just to clarify, all the more common used oils here, quartz 9000 future, LM special tec, zic, honda/toyota oils, etc that are rated at API SN, all these are blended oils, group iii and (maybe) group iv (pao). General consensus is that a full synthetic oil means its a group iv pao oil.
In germany blended oils cannot be labeled as fully synthetic, thus people assume that total quartz,zic oil is better than LM because it says its fully synthetic on the bottle. Other regions dont have strict classifications. This is from total themselves, and i quote:
"QUARTZ 9000 FUTURE GF-5 5W-30 is listed as synthetic technology on our technical data sheet and as such will be a blend of PAO and Group III or 100% Group III. I donāt have access to further information than that as the detail is considered confidential information."
Dont know about mobil 1 if thats blended. Btw, LM special tec has updated to SN plus, total quartz 9000 amsoil also is the same.
