Update:
Sygic has recently updated Pakistan Maps.
And it's more of a 'down-grade' than an upgrade.
Now, Pakistan's Map is only 25MBs. 3D Renders of national landmarks are GONE so Allama Iqbal International Airport, Minar-e-Pakistan and Badshahi Mosque show up as mere POIs whereas they used to be in 3D. About 90% of POIs are gone too. Only important POIs such as McDonalds and KFC etc remain in my area (Allama Iqbal Town). Before; even my local 'doodh wali dukan' can be seen on the map!
On the upside; some roads have been updated. The biggest improvement I noted is "Moulana Shoukat Ali Road" between Wahdat Road and Canal Bank Road which was constructed about 3 years ago and was previously completely missing but now finally exist in the map.
But the down-grading makes sense because around here; people consider it stupid to pay for softwares and hence Pakistan isn't exactly on Sygic's radar. Even people who own multi-million rupee cars are seen on various forums asking for ways to get it on their smartphones and sat-navs for free!
I paid Rs. 3,100 to get Sygic's lifetime license with turn-by-turn voice guidance and travel-book and when I told my friend about it; he looked at me as if I've completely lost my mind!
What a mindset! Sygic is a small firm and it need cars, cameras, equipments and crew to map a place, which costs money!
I think we deserve it...
