Taglon 5w-50 in zero meter GLI

500 km is not normal. I got my city at 38km odo. Which city btw?
I have seen brand new toyota cars “driven” from karachi to isb. The drivers pick passengers enroute to earn some pocket money. Later the dealers reverse the meters and sell it to customers.
Car carriers charge 26000 from khi to isb (got my city delivered from khi to isb on suzuki carrier in oct) total distance from khi to isb is 1200 km. a brand new will do atleast 10km per litre. Petrol cost comes out to be a little above 10,000. So its 16k bachat straight away. Lesson learned is to always look at the general condition of the car during acceptance at showroom. there is no 5w-30 full synthetic option available ... All 5w-30 products offered by Toyota in Pakistan are semi synthetic ...5w-50 is only fully synthetic option they have currently...

Agreed. I have checked Toyota Indus website, but could not find 5w-30. May be, they have not updated the details on their website.

Its abnormal. There seems something fishy. In any case, it must be less than 100 Kms IMO (whatsoever is the reason).

at roll out every new Toyota ( petrol or diesel) is poured with 20W-50. To clean out new engine assembly line garbage, at 1st free service insist upon 5W-30 or 10W-30 with filter change available at 3S shop. That will not be for free and they will charge for oil & oil filter.

Toyota user shall insist for change of oil at 1st service to maintain warranty. 5W-30 was recently introduced and vehicle owner shall be wise enough to insist upon cross refer to owner's manual.

So finally we changed the oil at a private shop after running the brand new car around 2000km. My cousin got Toyota Japan motor oil 5w-30 and asked mechanic to change it. He poured around 3.5 litre but the new engine oil dip stick showing the oil level a little bit up from upper mark level. Oil filter was also replaced!

What is the engine oil capacity in GLI 1.3 car 2NZ-FE ?

start engine for a minute, shut down for a minute, make sure car is level straight (not on ramps or slope)

pull out dipstick, clean and test oil level. (make sure dipstick O ring is good)

Go for 5w-30

Quartz 9000 is a good option... price is reasonable and performance is excellent. Taglon is a grease..my grande felt really heavy

you can also get tin pack made in japan Toyota oil 5w-30. i think it would b better than taglon semi synthetic 5w-30.

however i am using taglon fully synthetic 5w-50 in multiple rides. no complaints. AL HAMD U LILLAH very good oil.

IMO, 5w-30 tin pack motor oil by Toyota, would be better than Taglon 5w-50, provided 5w-30 is the recommended engine oil grade for your ride.

It would be best if its fully synthetic.

For checking engine oil level, especially for Toyota engines, proceed as follows:

Preferably in that start of the day, morning; Start the car, let it idle for some time unless / until it attain its working temperature. Stop the engine. Let it cool down for at least 10-15 minutes. Pull out the dipstick, and ignore the level on it. Clean it and put it back again. Now take it out again, and check its level. This time the level you would see on the dipstick would be the oil level in the engine (You can counter verify it by trying for the third time. Level on 2nd and 3rd time would be the same).

It might be possible that engine had not been started. He just drained old oil and put in the new one. After that, he just checked the level on dipstick.

IMO, its not the correct way for checking engine oil level, especially for Toyota engines. Engine must be warm, so that oil flows in galleries, oil filter, etc. Only then, you can get its precise level.

Total is best in 5w-30..full synthetic.tin pack is semi syn. Taglon is totally useless as its too heavy and is even against Toyotas manual. 5w-30 is ideal grade for Corolla/camry yaris accord.. Civic even
