IMO, 5w-30 tin pack motor oil by Toyota, would be better than Taglon 5w-50, provided 5w-30 is the recommended engine oil grade for your ride.

It would be best if its fully synthetic.

Its 3.7L with filter change, and 3.4L without filter change.

For checking engine oil level, especially for Toyota engines, proceed as follows:

Preferably in that start of the day, morning; Start the car, let it idle for some time unless / until it attain its working temperature. Stop the engine. Let it cool down for at least 10-15 minutes. Pull out the dipstick, and ignore the level on it. Clean it and put it back again. Now take it out again, and check its level. This time the level you would see on the dipstick would be the oil level in the engine (You can counter verify it by trying for the third time. Level on 2nd and 3rd time would be the same).

It might be possible that engine had not been started. He just drained old oil and put in the new one. After that, he just checked the level on dipstick.

IMO, its not the correct way for checking engine oil level, especially for Toyota engines. Engine must be warm, so that oil flows in galleries, oil filter, etc. Only then, you can get its precise level.

Total is best in 5w-30..full synthetic.tin pack is semi syn. Taglon is totally useless as its too heavy and is even against Toyotas manual. 5w-30 is ideal grade for Corolla/camry yaris accord.. Civic even
