Tappet problems in EFI cars

the tappets are to make sure the valves can positively close off and compensate for expansion, It does not matter if the fuel induction is carburettor or fuel injection.

Your car not having a temperature guage is a silly move by the manufacturer, You can see the engine temperature if you connect some sort of scan unit to the OBD port under the dash or use an infrared thermometer on the engine itself. If its heating up quick, your cooling fans will also start early.

Is that hapening?

well, i have never checked it by this method even i don't have required tools and scanning system.
I just wanted to confirm that does it happening with tighten tappets?
reason for asking this i also shared a problem which u couldn't see here is the link for you xulfiqar bhai, kindly check it and advice me what to do only tappets adjustment is left.

and umar i have never done it from the day of purchasing, now its been almost 19000 + kms
only the problem im facing unstable RPM on petrol and fuel consumption which is less with other same models cars
and when AC is on and i press the break pedal i always got some sort of vibration and some time car gets shut off.
and when i try to restart in hot mode its take 2 to 3 self its really difficult to restart when hot.
but never problem in the morning even i start car after 6 to 8 days,it starts in half self.

i have the same problem with my CITY manual 2006. rpm seems dancing on CNG and stable on petrol. and even on cng after some 1 KM run car started making trouble like break in pickup and suddenly it stops. soo after that i need to drive it on petrol. changed the coils, make the tapet adjestments, tuning but car is making problem in CNG, but on petrol it was smooth.

your problem is quite different from mine, well i could suggest you to change your advancer and emulator, and make sure its air blockage in proper way, might be possible air intake problem is there that's why rpm fluctuating on cng only and pick up is not as much good as it should be..........

get the tappets adjusted-your car has 8 valves only.only a fifteen minutes job.
do it on a dead cold engine

so umar r u 100% sure its the problem of tappets?
but let me know how is it possible to perform the job in dead cold engine, I must have to start car n have to travel at least 15 KMs to reach honda showroom,
I cant trust on road side mechanics, and i do believe its very sensitive job and should be done by expert
am i right?

symptoms of tight tappets:
quick warm up(only few minutes of drive)
misfire or car ka bhari ho k chalne
after reaching honda 3s let it cool down or do the hot tappet setting

but as per the recommendations of experts they refused, hot adjustments,
now a days its really difficult to make engine dead cold after running 15km due to weather condition, which will be 41?C for tomorrow in Karachi,

Get you cars valve clearance from manual then make sure your dude gets it rite .usually values are different fir intake and exhaust . Always do adjustment in dead cold engine.

3 - take car in morning and ask mechanic to do adjustment after 5 hours shutdown
4 - DIY

Dear Shazz,

U are right Advancer replaced with the new one along with the back 4 Kabli coils. Mashallah car is now performing well, both in AC as well.

No, because we cannot actually see your car from the internet and setting the tappet gap is a regular tune job anyway.
