Not sure of hydrogen vehicles in India. I haven't heard or read much about any work in this area. Not sure of the success of the 'Air Car' either. Indians like driving combustion engines and CNG/LPG use is minimal among private users. Only public vehicles are mandated and the Supreme Court has to come down heavily on operators to switch to CNG. Saudi Arabia and Iran guarantee India's oil supply. India is Iran's largest buyer of oil at contracted rates. Saudi Arabia also guarantees supply to maintain India's strategic reserves. That's how the Union Govt. subsidizes oil prices. It is at the state and city level that taxes are levied which pushes the price up to ,for eg., Rs49 a liter , here in Madras. Indian Oil Companies are also buying up oil fields in Africa to leverage their supplies down the line. In short, i doubt that hydrogen and 'Air' cars will be successful in India. Maybe , made in India and exported to other countries will be a better option. There is no incentive really for a mass switch to alternate fuels in India at the moment.
