whats the difference in 421 vs 404? what about looks vise, how can you distinguish them.
you need to get some mean tyres for the beast to complete the look. then it will really dig in and shake the earth with those diff locks

@nomi1234..... yes it has the longer wheel base of all unimogs and super crawler attachment make it a unbeatable in rock crawling. it has bigger engine.

Two common options on a Unimog 404 are the PTO and crawler gearbox. If one is fitted than the other can not be fitted since they attach at the same place on the gearbox. The reduction gearbox allows for two additional low gears, giving a crawl ratio of almost 350:1! The PTO allows for a front or rear PTO shaft and is commonly used for the Mercedes or Werner front mounted PTO winches. These winches are substantial units that can be used continuously under full load and make normal "heavy duty" electric winches look pretty pathetic. The PTO can also be used to power pumps, generators, etc

well i got the PTO for my 421 and so far in Pakistan only DeeMog has the PTO if anyone has it in Pakistan do let me :)....dont know it i can mount the same 2 speed crawler in my mog as can be mounted in 404....

i have plans of changing the tyres but most importantly the weight at the rear....only thing i am lacking rite now is the time :(....

@July76 and @Qaisrani..... bro it can be done in multan and there i have heard about Merc engine machenics....421 has the same engine as came in merc car 240D and engine parts are no issue ( i will guide you where to buy).... do it there i will guide you the restoration step by step and hope that you will save lot of money and time as well....

A diff test is due & will be done after my complete recovery. I took it for a ride on Sunday (near the old IJC’s meeting point near Margalla Tower) & front Shocks were giving the feeling like I am sitting in a Hino Truck :p, will try on a different adjustment, thanks to Gabriel for giving 3 options.

Rear shocks had a little too much articulation
