Temperature gauge check light turns green while driving

Aoa, i have vitz 2004. Even in this hot weather, Its temperature gauge green check light is taking long to turn off once i start it and it turns green again and again for seconds or may be a minute while driving. What can be the possible reason? I got the cng gas kit removed? This can contribute to the problem???

Is the fan direct?

Is the fan running always? Or it starts when you have driven for a while.

But I think it is more probable that your thermostat is stuck open.

visit an expert mechanic/efi electrician....it might be thermostat issue... or might not be an issue at all...you have a super car which remains cool....

So, open the bonnet, turn off the AC and start the car in the morning. Let the car idle and check radiator pipes coming from engine. One pipe should start to get warm while other pipe will stay cool. If both pipes get warm similarly then your thermostat is stuck open.

by all means i can not recommend YOU a DIY to open the hood and check here & there, being a Girl as your name suggest, a heat injury is no., Please do not attempt a DIY

you can goto Toyota 3S shop specifically ask them to check for:

1. If radiator cap is working
2. if the radiator fan is running on automatic
3. if the cooling system is working good by checking onto hose pipes the Top one shall be bone hard when engine is hot and running. If it is HOT soft & collapses upon pressing softly - the thermostat valve is stuck open and vehicle engine is not reaching its optimum temperature to turn off the cluster light.
4. if you are using normal tap water out there, most likely thermostat valve has corroded and STUCK OPEN.

ask the shop to replace thermostat valve with a new one ( you shall take old one from them ) and refresh the cooling system with Coolant top up radiator & expansion bottle ( plastic one connected to radiator )

it may cost you in tune of 200 - 2000 for parts & coolant & approx 2000 for labor charges.

plus you can enjoy the look at the service supervisor face when asking him to do the 4 above point, and that will be priceless.
