Ouch - embarrassing moment Count another fan for the 599. Every test I read on the car had the Sequential shift gearbox and I assumed that was the only gearbox offered.

Like everybody else on this thread, I am a huge Ferrari fan. When I first saw Jeremy Clarkson test driving the F355 on Top Gear, I went crazy. Car shows used to make sense during those days and so did the cars. In a number of car reviews of current times, I have seen people talk less enthusiastically about Ferraris as they used to in the mid 90s. Those days are now long gone, when cars used to be mechanical engineering marvels. Now you get Ferraris that are the modern equivalent of PS3 with traction control and driving aid rubbish.

youre lucky to have driven such supercars (Y)

i have always driven toyota corollas and Honda civics , which do 0-100 in 10 secs atleast.

The closet i ever came to speed was when i drove a toyota camry yesterday , 2.4 litre engine , felt like a supercar against the corolla , Only 2 seconds less to a hundred km/h but the difference was huge for me.

Yea maybe the calculation was wrong , but still the difference between corolla and camry was huge , camry went to 120 in no time ( now thats comming from a guy whose been driving suzukis , corollas )

Talking about the review , It was better then Jeremey Clarkson , who usually speaks gibberish and less of sensible talking.

In other words , this was a proper review , while Jeremy Clarkson doesn't give a damn about properly reviewing the car , but only cares about entertaining the audience.

Thanks man! That's quite a compliment. Btw... Corollas and Civics are great cars. Besides, after driving a few nice cars they don't seem so special anymore. I never thought that I wouldn't be excited after driving a Porsche Turbo...but that's exactly what happened yesterday.

As for the Camry V-6...the new one is a very quick car. I really like that motor and it's going to be used in the upcoming Lotus Evora.

This is a beautiful car. Very Rolex style design, will look good even after 20 years or so...

Thank you! Yeah the design really is timeless. The dealer was asking somewhere in th 130s for the GTC and mid 90s for the non-GTC car.

a modern Ferrari V12 and on top of that a tubi...simply amazing...you should have made an audio recording of that beast! What an experience! Also, did the back end break loose at all during the hard acceleration in first girl? With all that torque, I bet it got a bit squirrely.

The V-12 sounded great with the Tubi but it wasn't as loud as the V-8s with Tubi's. The idle was a nice deep rumble. The rear-end did get loose very easily under hard acceleration in first...luckily didn't do that in second.
