Nice nice, you're getting quite frequent with test drive nowadays, sup?

Its quite cheap anyways?? what plastic are they using? and are those General XP2000 tires?

Hahah my mom's not in the country- others would go out to parties. I go out for illegitimate test drives

Imagine the plastic on the dash to be JUST plastic. In the premium models, they stick on a single piece of foamish thing on the plastic to make it feel less harsh and noisy. The basic model gets nothing. And those might be General tires, too

I didn't get to drive it to that limit, of course. Is it because of the rear axle itself, or the suspension setting?

A bit of both, but the basic problem is that if one rear wheel hits a bump, it also upsets the other rear wheel to due to the rigid axle, and then the whole rear end of the car gets unsettled. This does not happen with IRS systems.

Techincally, the V6 should have okay insurance. Stay away from Z cars- they're killers.

Basically your average cars should be okay, it's just when you start getting into established sports cars, your insurance rates go up. Mustang V8's are out of the question, V6's aren't too bad, all Japanese cars are pretty much at one level- they're mostly cheap to insure, and German cars might be a bit more.

I'll just go to another dealership with a heavy attitude to drive a 5.0- that's the one I really wanted to try out.

I think if you upgrade to the "performance package", you do get an independent suspension. I haven't heard complaints about the live axle issue in the reviews I've read, at least.

in motortrends compariosn of the M3 & 5.0 GT; the mustang beats the M3 in mant accounts (including some aspects of handling eve) yes with the inedependent suspension:P

however; you dont get independent suspension in the mustang. theres no option..

About the V6 'Stang, I'm thinking, A Pro-charger kit like the last-generation "Terlingua" Mustang should take its power to the 5.0 level with more torque. Then add suspension and brakes and you should be making Z-cars run for cover, maybe even the E92 M3. Especially considering that you've got a $17k difference between this and the 370Z Nismo. $17k buys you a lot of choice mods. $7k for the boost, $4k for the suspension and brakes, and probably $2k for good rolling stock and you're good. OK, add $2k for a cage, seats and harness, you're still undercutting the Nismo by $2k. You can buy a lot of gas-o-leeeen for that money :D.

I've read that story over & over in my subscribed issue & all I could understand from the results was, American (Car + Source)...

I agree both are totally different cars, for totally different purposes, but why in the same test? What's next? Taurus Sho vs M5? :rolleyes:

@Bilal, great review buddy! I love the new Mustangs. They've surely brought Ford on top of the muscle car game.

As for the insurance, I got an online quote from Geico for about $900 for 6 months. They didn't ask whether the car was a V6 or V8, so they might increase it once the VIN is submitted and they find out its a V8. But $600/month seems alot. That could be a monthly installment if you plan to finance the car

I remember thinking the Terlingua was a V8 when it came out. But when I found out it was a V6 AND had power increases of more than 100 hp, I was surprised.

The Pro-charger kit on this engine would EASILY give M3's a run for their money. Plus the the end of the day, you'd be able to drive the Stang home whereas the M3 would be feeling pretty sick. They do well on the track, but they're always second best on a drag strip. In fact, I've personally seen an E46 M3 sheer... something. He did get an impressive hole shot though, so it counted for something
