From what I've heard, Huawei on grid inverters are short in market. I am therefore being given the option of Sungrow and GoodWe (10kW). Which of these two would be better? and is there a big difference between Huawei and these two?

Check for Growatt as 1st choice , 2nd GoodWe last SunGrow -
if Huawei is absent.

Huawei, Sungrow and SMA dominate global inverter market

After huawei, sungrow is the 2nd largest manufacturer of solar inverters and offers same 10 years warranty like huawei but I am not sure who is importing sungrow in Pakistan and if they are any good with their after sales and warranties.

I have had good experience with Goodwe after sales and warranty claim.

@centos I've asked multiple solar installations companies and all of them are giving 5 year warranty on Sungrow inverters. Couldn't find someone giving extended warranty.

Guys how does exporting power to Wapda work? I installed a new system and right now I’m using less than 40% of my potential PV capacity. I’ve started process or net metering and it’ll install soon but I’m unsure if nepra simply lets you cancel out units that you export can what you use from Wapda or pays you for the units you export ?

there is nothing as such payment.

every unit exported is like an advance deposit to your account.

exported units are adjusted in monthly bills when needed, there is no expiry of deposited units so far. There may be some policy change to expunge certain number of deposited units every quarter but not before July 2023.

Karachi and Islamabad etc walon ki mojain hain but In Lahore and neighboring discos things are different.

Extra exported units are accumulated for 3 months and then credited to your cash balance at then end of the 3rd month. You can either use them within the 3 months or you get around Rs 9 for each unit at the end of 3rd month.

Units are converted into cash and credited your account 4 times a year in the following months. March, June, September and December.

My house is under construction so very few units are consumed. This month I am expecting a credit of around Rs 35,000 for about 3500 units accumulated in the months of July, August and September.

@centos I understand the the units are converted to Rupees every 3 months, but are the units netted every month though? i.e are the exported units subtracted from the imported units (to calculate net units) every month or every three months?

And are the fuel adjustment charges applied like everyone else or is there a difference there too? + what about peak rate, is that fixed or slab dependent. @centos if you are from Lahore, can you share a copy of a bill in which you have imported more units? would help us immensely in understanding this stuff.

Let's take my last bill as an example.

I generated 1880 units, that's what my inverter shows in dashboard.

My bill says I exported 1745 units which means I used 135 units during the day while it was being generated.

I imported/used 125 off-peak so my net balance is 1620 units that lesco owes me.

My peak import is 61 units for which I pay peak tariff + the taxes and FPA for these units which comes to Rs. 3561 that's taken out of my credit cash balance.

All three phase meters have fixed peak and off-peak rates. There are no slabs. Slabs are only for single phase residential meters with low sanctioned loads.

Bill for September is here and I am loving it. I got about Rs 64,000 credit for 3,572 units accumulated over last 3 months so that's about Rs 18 per unit.

What I don't like and understand is Rs 2658 of taxes for just the 91 units I consumed.
