Hey mr harooon could you advise me on this I am willing to buy a third car and my search led me to a 2003 clk 200 coupe with 80000 kms,European import certain touch ups but over all good condition. Could you help me with how reliable these cars are and how hard it is to maintain them

The hardtop are a pain. No one likes them. You may get a hardtop in around 18 lacs.
Buy any merc with a maintenance history otherwise don't buy.
Maintaining one is no big deal now.
The cars are reliable provided they have been kept nicely.
The lights you see were bought for 2.5 lacs from Dubai.

Diesel is not recommended.

Ohh and I have noticed these old mercs usually have worn out steerings even ones with relative low mileage

I test rode the diesel it's in pretty good nick pretty tempting it's quite a bit louder then the petrol variants. It's been sitting in the sun I think the seats although still plush the cloth looks bleached of color (fabric seats ) can the seat cloth be found locally or would seat covers have to suffice

People do have good diesel cars with them but I will still not recommend it.
I have a couple of hardtop cars in sight but they are in LHE/ISB.
Seat cloth is a bit hard to source. You may get a look alike cloth stitched though

sir the worn out seats and steering wheels are tell tail signs of high milleage dnt go by what it says on the meter ask for proof to back that milleage better yet you can take any potential car to shahnawaz and ask for a health check mileage check etc
you would be amazed or shall i say be prepared to be shocked at some of the results.
