original Exorcist for sure back in the days. I don't watch the horror crap any more but The Signs made me jump off my seats when I saw it the first time on theaters. It's not horror but the suspense is ammazing.

hmmm ... saw a PHADDA in BAHRIA university during RAGGING ov new student ... almost 5 Vz 1 .... DAmn ...n tht alone guy cm 2 me (he waz bleedin ).... i waz cnfuzd n tryn to CALM down the other 5 ....and i DID ........... thtz more horrible thn a any HORROR movie..... i do as much as i can but still fel BAD

but there are some good horror movies out there.
Try "JU-ON" original japanese version of grudge.
also try "Geoul sokeuro " Original korean version of "Mirrors"

"Chakushin ari" is also good.

There are some tv shows based on true stories in Japan coz Jap consider their country most cursed & haunted place in the world.Try youtube & search. There was a show while back on The Grudge which is based on true story. I will post a link if found. That was very close to best in my opinion.

Ju-On Grudge: Really nice movie. The best part is no gore / torture is imposed to thrust horror on you .. its pure suspense

The Ruins: An outstanding movie after a really long time..

Mirrors: very good suspense through out.. u can't take it lightly..

Texas Chainsaw Massacre - The Remake: Really Sick

Cannibal Holocaust: Don't ask.. see for yourself!!

REC: Spanish movie equally awesome with subtitles..

Exorcism of Emily Rose: Try not to watch it close to 3 a.m. .. :p.. you'll freak out

tonight I'll watch The Signal and share with you all how did it do...

In movies, the 1981 Exorcist still rules the horror genre. Recent good ones that i've seen include Quarantine (English remake of REC), Grudge 3 (though not as good as first one), Mirrors, but the really spine chilling one was The Orphanage (Spanish with subtitles, really worth watching).

I'd also like to mention Supernatural, which is a TV series and it outclasses most horror movies. It's three seasons r out and r highly recommended.
