My dashcam internal battery died and camera could not keep current time so the files on sd card messed up. The date of august 2015 started showing in all videos. So I Googled and found video about replacing internal battery which is a small pouch type and it's wire are solded on the circuit board.

I got the battery for 250 rs from College Road Rawalpindi. Now it is working fine.

Long time back i bought GoPro2, it got faulty... since then i am buying cheap Chinese stuff.. I bought 2 Dashcams, i had in mind that one will work for a year or less then die... 3 years now and still working.. My point is buy 2 cheap ones instead of one expensive one...
Check the quality, cost is $50 only

Thinkware and Blackvue are the best, both front and back cams are equippes with sony lens and can capture video @1080p (front 60fps, rear 30fps).
In case of blackvue you can remotely monitor your dashcam virtually from any where in the world (live view) provided you have provision of internet access in or nearby your car.
Blackvue is available online in Pakistan (shophive.com) for around 44k with basic accessories for optional items add further.

I have recently purchased YI Smart Dash cam. Yesterday, i tested this product during afternoon.

Settings:
Video resolution: 1920x1080 60fps
Card: 32GB Class 10
ADAS: Off

I feel there is noise in the video, perhaps due to windshield in between the scene and camera lens. Or perhaps i should try maximum available resolution of 2304x1296 30fps. Comments and suggestions welcome.

Cleaned the windshield and it looks better. Comments and suggestions welcome. I have noticed big file size for a 3-minute video. It is around 450 MB which means if i keep on recording for continuous one (1) hour it shall consume around 8GB of the memory card. This is something. Anyone who can guide on this?

My dash cam is set to capture 3 minutes clip, there must be a setting in your camera.

Thanks for your reply. By default, this cam captures 3-minutes video at max. There is no setting as such. My concern was that individual file size was around 450 MB. Do you have similar experience?

Yes. I have seen this video and your other videos as well.

Quality is good even at 1280X720. Best check is to look for digits, letters etc. appearing in the video and see if these are legible which ultimately proves quality of the lens. Scene @1:42 proves this. I will reduce it to 1080 px 30fps and see the result.

Exactly. Now-a-days many reviews are available and one has to read or watch those before making a purchase. Fortunately, i did some research before that. But again, since this is the first cam of its own kind i have purchased, i was not sure about most of its details. Somehow it is proving good for me. Still learning many things.
