Simply use MANN or other similar filters - paper filters they work nicely and dont suffer from high humidity problems that we see in the south

Actually no body bother about airfilter so much, just for cleaning air, but airfilter is most importent part for engine life, performance & economy.
I am very much consious abt engine parts & replacment parts like sparkplugs, oils filter or airfilter, tried many filters much are 2numb or locally made like Leppon also, yes Leppon was very good filter but now, its comming from china especilly air filter is worst, do'nt use that, iam using NITCO brand filters which is org Malaysian made, especially airfilters are very good, using special paper exect micron for cleaning air its runs 5 time more then guard or other synth fiber type filters.

Would like to have your expertise here!
i have toyota mark II, 2005, BLIT. The problem i am facing is that on starting the car, it breathes until the temperature gets normal. i presume that it is due to bad air filteration. Previously, i was using Japanese Air Filter (bought from Filter House, Lahore) and now i have switched to (Original : as claimed by Filter House). The car behaved properly for approx three days and now again, i am facing the same issue.
Pertinent to mention that i got its throttle body cleaned recently but did see some carbon on the net in the morning!
Would really appreciate your help / opinion!

i recently installed Leppon Air filter in my 2.0D. It gave way just on the second day. The noise became awfully loud. I removed it and put the original one. I have been using the genuine ones for quite some time but this time i thought to check this piece as well - which looked very much similar than the original one. I am using Leppon oil filter for more than a year now. I think it is Ok.

not sure what you mean by "breathes". does that mean that it's idle is not stable? most liekly that is caused by a dirty air flow sensor. remove it, clean it gently and refit it.

the problem with these modern cars is that there are too many sensors, so it#'s possible it could be anything. you're better off taking it to a certified mechanic rather than me trying to diagnose it online.

Sir you should also diagnose your air intake and exhaust.

Normally a change in air filter does not have such severe reaction unless it has really bad filter properties or the car is a race car like a C6R.

where in lahore to get the SIMOTA oil cleaner?

these retailers aren't very educated and careful themselves and order the filters but not the cleaners.

i installed and flat pan- lid on top for carb. simota filters and the box says 'use simota oil cleaner'.
i guess the question i have is, is there an alternate way to clean them.
have it installed on the Suzuki G13.
any ideas on which shops to get the cleaner from?

Guys need a bit of advice. I just purchased a 2010 model swift and installed a K&N air filter in it. Now on another thread (SWIFT OWNERS CLUB) i was advised that i should replace the K&N filter with stock one. Whats the suggestion of experts about what i should do?

K&N air filters are crap right out of the box. They have large enough holes which easily lets dust particles flow through them. Our environment is already very dusty so it's better you should switch back to oem air filter and throw this piece of garbage away.

Aoa.

I have been maintaining cars for many years now; there are 2 components which I consider the lifeline of the engine i.e. Air & Oil filter and I have never taken a chance. I always install OEM filters what may come.

I always change the oil filter with every oil change.
As regards to the Air filter, I get it changed every 2nd oil change. (@ 10,000kms)

As the result the engine lacks carbon deposit, and the exhaust pipe is always tan color.

Sorry to say we dont have the facility in Pakistan to check the quality of replacement Oil & Air filters.

Why take the risk........
