Well...! 4AFE and 4EFE...!
Same Narrow Angle Head...!!
4AFE is 1587cc 1.6L can be found in 90-99 Model Corolla/Sprinter/Corona Premio's 1.6L versions.. 1.6 Gli also have same engine....
Power Ratings are 110-115ps depends on country and model...!

4EFE is 1331cc 1.3L engine can be Found in Corolla 1.3L Efi and Starlet....Power Ratings are 85-95ps depending on Model....!

Well no 4EFE comes in 86 corolla....its introduced in 93-94 1st time in Corolla EE101(Indus SHape) in japan...however we have 1.3L Carb engine 2E in our local 1.3L XE's GL's.....

well 4EFE is also such great motor as like as 4AFE is....!
u can easily get 5AFE which is flooded in market nowdays...!
5AFE is 1.5L version of 4AFE..exact same as 4AFE with just displacement difference..its power ratings are 105ps...

the best of deal u can get is 5AFE or 4AFE i Say...4EFE is still not very common in market like 5AFE or 4AFE is...u can get a very clean and mint condition 5AFE all over u need..Parts flooded..so many cars running with it...minor diff in power b/w 5AFE and 4AFE....!
4EFE 4AFE 5AFE all have narrow angle head design with enough power to push ur 88 like any other high hp cars.....!

i suggest 5AFE or 4AFE as parts are more easily find as well as overall better.....!!
Auto are almost 90% out there as compare to manual...so u will have some toubles finding manual tranny..but u will find...!!

i better suggest not to pay till u have each and every part of it with u...or u will end in visiting again and again....!

all desi mechanics says that these engines r bull shit as they even know how to tune them up....... but belive me these engines r more powerful and reliable than carby engines......... mechanics also dont have any knowledge of sensors and e.c.u.... thats why they blame engines for that.... clear hai @sd_sig bhai

but i want to ask that is it good to put 4afe in manual transmission and does this affect the suspension.what will be its performance both on petrol and cng.how much all this setup will cost me.any good mechanic who could this job perfectly

Well 4AFE on Manual is best u can get...on petrol as well as on CNG...its awsome...! (y) milage....!
well i suggest u to get 2 Door GTTi Suspension after 4AFE...!
will make ur car rock solid and handles like anything best...!
get GTTi or GTXX suspension.....along with lower anti-roll bars and strut bars...!

Obviously its not Bolt on but its not a big problem very minor cutting for right side Mounting installation, n AC is superb chilled.....

in my opinion 4efe would be the best option to put it in charade 88 bcoz when i came to shershah karachi
@ faisal's shop he told me that 4efe is bolton on charade 88 and there is less than 10hp difference between 4efe and 4afe

so for the sake of 10hp you must not cut your chasis even for a little bit

No 4EFE is also not bolt on in charade. how it can be possible.

This is the same statement which is given by Bilal Gunj shop keepers advised to new customers who have lack of knowledge even they also advised them the Swaper..

in my Opinion 4AFE is preferable then 4EFE. Do consider that 4AFE parts are Cheap n flooded in Market whether they are NEW or OLD, and 4EFE parts are expensive n hard to find.

actually 4efe also come in imported corolla's so i think there must not be the parts problem.

and when i saw the 4EFE motor i found that it is less wider than 4AFE so i think shopkeeper telling right
