I have a question if anyone using coilovers wishes to reply to it. What happens once the strut is dead? Do you change the coilover or get the strut repaired?

you should replace it , overseas people usually get lifetime warranty of branded coils and even if you don't get warranty more than an year or so , only the original manufacturer would rebuild the strut the way it needs to be
That's a drawback considering you can't find these things very common.
