Hey guys,
Need help. Facing a problem on lowering in excess of 1 inch. The car in question is a 2005 Civic ES5 swapped F20B and running on HKS Hipermax V2 coilovers and 17 inch wheels.
If the car is lowered more than 1 inch, it vibrates violently on right turns. Its not noticeable on dead slow speeds. People said its axle issue and i've found that it's called axle bind. I could just live with it on a vibration free height but i'm looking for a solution where i can go lower.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I was going to refer to axle bind aswell. Since you have an f20b installed, when you lower the car more than an inch, that also changes the angle of the axle, causing an abnormal position of the tripod inside the cv housing. I'm guessing that the engine is running on custom mounts. To some what rectify the issue, you might need to lower or raise the engine from the side that is facing axle bind IF there is space to move the engine / trans.

The above mentioned reason is most probable - Would need to have a closer view of the setup underneath where axles can be seen or from top if visible , and btw did you fabricate the axles and the engine bay to adjust the F series ?

Okay so i did a little more searching on raising the engine. Will try raising the engine from the front two mounts. Will post results. Thanks for the input.

I liked lowering but mehran after installing these bumper I have to park my car in reverse as my home ramp is quite high.The first time I installed my bumpers and happily drove my car in the garage and that moment my front bumper crashed in the slope.the pain of that new bumper cracked was too much.

What do you think if I use 13"rims.will it raise my cars height ?

the tyre profile seems pretty fat for 17s

Use bigger wheels it will increase the height.

AOA. Thanks and no i am not facing such issues on bumps or on anything else for that matter. Yes, the profile is fat coz the tire size is 215/50R17 which i think is pretty much the ideal tire size for both 8th and 9th gen. civics if you are after looks and not so harsh ride.

I have a civic 2005 and am thinking of lowering.. Want some good suggestions plus if anyone has some lowering springs for sale, do pm me.. I found Maxspeed Lowering springs but read unfavourable comments regarding the brand..

try to find tein lowering springs for your car , you are more likely to get an unbalanced drop if your struts are not healthy but if they are , lowering springs would be more than enough to fulfill your desire of lowering and if you wish to spend more then go for coils
Maxspeed is the typical brand available in market since ages
