Sir you have been really lucky in these... really good deals..

When are you planning to put them up on thing ? it will start looking like a real miltary vehicle instead of a collectors ride after putting all these item on it.

I had bought most of the military M63 accessories over the last few weeks, including blackout lights but the problem was locating a good used Thing Correct Blackout switch that goes on the dash and it was listed for a hefty 180USD on the samba which was way out of my buying range. Disappointed by the high price of the samba blackout switch, I had to look for other options and then I stumbled upon this auction on the eBay where complete set of dash panels was being offered for auction. The panels were correct military panels with speedo, all the switches, brake warning lights, two fuse boxes and electric socket but were resprayed in white instead of military Olive Drab. I went for it and won the whole set for 70 Euros (+ shipping) a while ago. Here is what it looks like

@reezvaan, I remember while skimming through some articles about VW Thing I saw a picture of thing with a winch which was attached to back side not particularrly with bumper but was sort of hanged with a noobe or a mounting plate, did you stumbled upon that? it looked really good.. I would try finding that article again.

It was this sort of artical but it had pictures, this one has not... I think its the same winch you are also referring to ?

Winch[INDENT]The winch was made for VW by Powerwinch, of Leitchfield, The VWofA accessory winch didn't exactly mount on the vehicle. It came with two clamp-on trailer hitches, one for each bumper, and you "hung" the winch on the hitch ball with it's mounting plate. Powerwinch is still available as an accessory winch in about three different sizes. The winch still comes with everything but the bumper mounting hitches. i was suggesting turkey because they are still running these things there and that too for military (or navy) purpose so what might be a rare item in europe just might be easily available in turkey
