hmmm ... interesting.. I think wooden matts would not be very hard to DIY , if you grab a promising carpenter, show him this picture, but will have to find details about the wood used.

Type181/182 came with Factory Duckboards (a kind of wooden mats) or Factory Swiss Cheese Mats (a kind of rubber mats). Elk had neither when I drove it home. In following are the samples of the two:

I have plans to go with the Wooden Duckboards with Elk but for the moment, I had to go with the swiss cheese mats. Since there is no availability of the either locally. I had to make a set myself. Yesternight, I have made passenger side Swiss Cheese Mat at home using the basic tools such as measuring tape, a straight edge (ruler), a hammer, a punch for making holes, a paper cutter and a bold permanent marker.

The driver's side piece would be made tonight while the rear panel mats would be made during the Eid holidays. I would be sharing the home-made swiss cheese mat pictures shortly. Stay tuned.
