VW Group’s French Hyper car brand Bugatti marries to Croatian Rimac Automobile with Porsche as middle man on behalf of VW.

Rimac Automobile as previously known to the world as a fully electric Hyper car company , converts into Rimac Group with two divisions; Bugatti-Rimac and Rimac Technology.

The Rimac technology will be 100% owned by Rimac group and will remain engaged in developing and supply of battery technology, EV drivetrains and components for automobile brands around the globe as third party . Rimac Group will develop EV technologies Not only for their own brand Hyper Cars but also for many global OEMs.

The newly launched "Bugatti-Rimac" group will handle joint venture products in shape of hybrid and fully EV range and products will be developed for both Bugatti and Rimac brand. Both brands will keep their own brand identity and will remain & operate independently as Bugatti Automobiles & Rimac Automobili , under the new group.

Bugatti and Rimac will develop a joint venture 2000HP hybrid hyper car with engine technology coming from Bugatti while Hybrid setup from Rimac. A fully electric Bugatti will arrive by 2030 as per plan .

Both Bugatti and Rimac will be manufactured at their own current facilities, will keep their existing supply and distribution channels including their own brands independent dealership networks around the world.

Porsche will retain 45% stake in the new company “Bugatti-Rimac” while Rimac Group will hold 55%. Keep in mind, Porsche already also have another 24 % in the parent company “ Rimac Group “ beside Hyundai having 12% while Mate Rimac, the 33 year old founder of the company holding 37%.

Although Bugatti moves under Rimac with an all new Hyper Car brand “ Bugatti-Rimac “ and Mate Rimac to head the new company as CEO, operational wise it seems like more of a very strong joint venture with both companies having huge interest for future upcoming product line. Don't be surprised, if you see Rimac tech in future Porsche brand vehicles.

Let’s wait and see what the world welcomes from the joint venture of the technological forces ,innovations and iconic brands.

We are all familiar with Javed Afridi and his teasers of MG cars. Usually, it’s all just fun and games that the MG representative likes to play. Everyone gets hyped about the launch of another MG car, and then nothing comes out of it. That being said, MG Pakistan has done something solid. for now, its all just for hype. They cant deliver the MG HS on time and the so called CKD is still in the air. MG Marvel is recently reveled product and not yet available market wide in Europe and is on pre-order. Also a right hand drive version is still not released for the UK or any other RHD markets. We can easily say, it is still early for Marvel for arrival into Pakistan.

Dr Khurshid said so far $100,000 have been spent on the manufacturing of the vehicle, funds for which were donated by members of the Dice Foundation.
He added that developing prototype of an electric vehicle could cost up to $100 million but due to the services volunteered by the overseas Pakistanis, expenses were greatly reduced.

What??? How does one go from 100 million to 100 thousand? Must be some really talented overseas Pakistanis.

This has been developed through reverse engineering. This plus voluntary services rendered by overseas Pakistanis might have resulted in lesser costs.

Whatever it is, a very nice gesture from overseas Pakistanis doing a commendable service for their country. But the unanswered question is how shall the prototype be converted into mass production?

The Foundation shall have to find an honest manufacturer who can agree on minimum profit margins for benefit of the masses.

If the numbers prove accurate, then that’s almost as quick as filling up a gas car with fuel.
One big bugbear holding back more widespread EV adoption is having to wait for your electric car to charge for many tens of minutes, or hours sometimes, which is nowhere near as convenient as just pumping fuel into a car’s tank. However, charging speeds are going up, charging times are going down and a new car from China can reportedly charge about as quickly as you can fill a tank.

The vehicle in question is an upcoming electric crossover for the Chinese market, the GAC Aion V, which is expected to debut this September.
