Habib Rafiq HRL Motors has the right Chinese Mega group this time after unsuccessful collaboration with the Chinese company Zotye to introduce small 1000 cc Z100 car in Pakistan later the electric version was imported but things did not work out and Zoyte group in china was near bankruptcy. Rafiq (HRL) is one of the largest construction and engineering companies in Pakistan. It is a leader in the real estate development and infrastructure sectors.

Jameel Motors to distribute Geely Farizon New Energy Vehicles in the UAE

KARACHI: A Chinese company has shown interest to invest $340 million in manufacturing electric vehicles and charging plants in Pakistan.

Sindh’s Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said the Sindh government would provide all kinds of facilities to the Chinese company. “If the Chinese company manufactures electric vehicles in Pakistan, the Sindh government will purchase more than 20 percent of the vehicles produced at the plant in Karachi.”

He made these comments during a media briefing at a ceremony held at a local hotel regarding the joint charging stations project between Malik Group and the Chinese company ADEN Group. Malik Group’s Chairman, Malik Khuda Bakhsh, and ADEN Group’s CEO, Yasser Bhambani, also spoke at the event.

The ceremony was attended by notable investors like Arif Habib, industrialists Zubair Tufail, Khalid Tawab, Hanif Goher, Abdul Sami Khan, Mazhar Ali Nasir, Mirza Ishtiaq Baig, Abdul Haseeb Khan, and others.

Nasir Hussain Shah mentioned that “the Sindh government is ready to provide land and all kinds of facilities for the charging plants as well.” He further emphasized that the provincial government would facilitate foreign companies in investing in the country. He also mentioned that the Chinese company has announced that it will begin manufacturing small electric vehicles, mini trucks, and SUVs in Pakistan by the end of this year. “If the company offers discounted vehicles, the Sindh government will procure 20 percent of them.”

Malik Khuda Bakhsh, the local partner of the Chinese group in Pakistan, said that 30 charging plants from China will arrive in Pakistan within the next 10 days, and they will start being installed across the country. He hopes that by the end of this year, the required number of charging plants will be established nationwide. He mentioned that the first charging station has already been set up in Karachi, and the second will be inaugurated in Lahore on Thursday.

Yasser Bhambani, CEO of ADEN Group, said their company will invest $90 million to set up 3,000 charging stations across Pakistan, and another $240 million to set up a vehicle manufacturing plant. He expects that by the end of this year, 1,000 charging stations will be installed, and electric vehicle production will start by December. The Chinese company also announced that it plans to manufacture 72,000 electric vehicles annually in Pakistan, and will also export these vehicles to the Middle East, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister of Energy Awais Ahmed Leghari said that in Pakistan 30 million motorcycles consume $6 billion worth of imported petrol annually, with motorcycles and rickshaws accounting for 40% of the country’s total petrol consumption.

While briefing the Senate Standing Committee on Climate Change, Leghari said that heavy reliance on fossil fuels significantly contributes to carbon emissions, with motorcycles emitting 110 kt, rickshaws 40 kt, small cars 10 kt, buses 22 kt, and trucks 24 kt of carbon annually. And, to address these environmental and economic challenges, the government is introducing an Energy Transition Plan, aiming to shift towards cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions.

100,000th Geely Galaxy E5 rolled off production line in China

On January 29, Geely announced that its 100,000th Geely Galaxy E5 rolled off the production line in China. In 2024, the E5 delivered 77,685 units, making it the fastest A-class all-electric SUV to achieve this record, Geely claimed.

The SUV was launched in August 4, 2024 in five trims, with a price range of 109,800 – 145,800 yuan ( 15,300 – 20,300 USD).

Furthermore, the Geely Galaxy E5 comes with an 11-in-1 intelligent electric drive system that weights 79.8 kg and has an overall efficiency of 90.04%. The maximum power/peak torque of the electric motor is 160 kW (215 hp)/320 Nm, the top speed is 180 km/h, the official Moose test speed is 78 km/h, and the 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time is 6.9 seconds.

Battery comes from Geely’s new generation of Aegis lithium iron phosphate battery packs, which are available in two capacities of 49.52 kWh and 60.22 kWh, with corresponding CLTC ranges of 440 km and 530 km, respectively. Under fast charging, it takes 10 minutes to replenish 135 km of range and 20 minutes to replenish from 30% to 80%. Otherwise, slow charging takes 9 hours to go from 10% to full charge.

Geely says no need for Proton, appoints PT Handal as contract manufacturer to CKD RHD models for Indonesia

Geely Auto Indonesia officially unveiled its return to the Indonesian market with the unveiling of the Geely EX5, the Chinese twin to the Proton e.Mas 7. While prices for the initial batch of fully imported (CBU) from China units have not been announced, Geely are making plans to introduce locally assembled (CKD) units in the archipelago within the year.
Besides Geely, HIM also assembles vehicles for Chery, Neta, Jetour, BAIC, Jaecoo, and Aletra. The latter is related to Livan Auto, a subsidiary of Geely Auto that handles battery-electric vehicles (BEVs).

The press release also mentioned that representatives of HIM have been in talks with Geely since 2018. PT HIM Vice President Commissioner, Jongkie D Sugiarto said, “Geely has a very good future in Indonesia. And I emphasize that compared to other countries in ASEAN, we are the biggest market. We have 280 million people, Thailand has 80 million people, then Malaysia has 35 million people. That means Indonesia has the biggest market potential in ASEAN and Geely should introduce its brand here and start your company's operation.”

The Wuling Binguo EV has emerged as Indonesia's best-selling battery electric vehicle (BEV), achieving this milestone in its first full year of sales.

Launched in Indonesia in December 2023 the Binguo EV recorded 6,549 units sold within 2024, securing its position at the top of the country’s growing BEV market.

The Binguo EV is roughly sized like a Perodua Myvi and is offered in three variants across two battery capacities.

As the names suggest, the base model supports only 3.3 kW AC charging, while the AC/DC variant supports both AC and DC charging, although Wuling does not disclose the maximum charging rate. Both variants feature a 31.9 kWh LFP battery, offering a range of up to 333 km.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra electric sedans with three electric motors and a peak power output of 1,138 kW (1,526 hp) were spotted at the brand’s Beijing factory. It seems the automaker has started the mass production of this high-performance model, as its sales launch and deliveries are scheduled for March. Previously, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra became the fastest four-door car.

As mentioned, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is a high-performance variant of the regular Xiaomi SU7. It started presales on October 29 with a price tag of 814,900 yuan (113,200 USD). Despite the high price of this sedan, it got 3,680 orders in just 10 minutes after the presentation had ended. The deliveries of this model are scheduled for next month. However, a bunch of Xiaomi SU7 Ultra was seen at the Beijing plant in early February. It seems Xiaomi is getting ready to sell these 1,500-hp beasts as hotcakes.

It is worth noting that the regular Xiaomi SU7 is also a quick vehicle. Its Max trim level offers a peak power of 495 kW (664 hp) and 838 Nm of torque. Its zero-to-hundred acceleration time is 2.78 seconds. However, Xiaomi Auto officially stated that the SU7 was designed for regular drives on urban roads, and not for track rides. As a result, there were some accidents, when the SU7’s brakes burned out on track, resulting in crashes.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is the track-ready car many users have been waiting for. It has three electric motors with a combined peak power of 1,138 kW (1,526 hp) and a maximum torque of 1,770 Nm. Its 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time is 1.98 seconds. The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra offers the largest carbon ceramic brake discs on a sports car to date, with Akebono 6-piston calipers in the front and 4-piston calipers in the rear. Those carbon ceramic brakes can handle a maximum temperature of over 1,300 degrees Celsius.

All these GiGis, GuGos, Honris, Prince Pearls and United Bravos.. give a terrible and classical impression of mediocre quality Chinese stuff.

This does not help shed the negative tag of “Chinese gaari” .

Chinese products have made a lot of improvements in recent years like Haval and BYD - only these need to be focused on. Rest a ton of stuff isn’t really quality .

In the video, Nio’s owner drives on the highway at 80 km/h, following another car. Suddenly, the car in front of him changes lanes at high speed, trying to avoid congestion on the highway. The maneuver is partly successful; however, we can see the driver slightly crash into the stationary vehicle, causing part of the car to fly high into the air, most likely the rearview mirror.

Nio’s AES immediately reacted and changed the lane to the left while braking, successfully avoiding the car driving parallel to it. AES (Active Emergency Steering) is part of NOP ADAS. It is an advanced safety system that applies braking and assists with steering to help avoid a collision. When braking alone is insufficient, it can work alongside AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking) to maneuver the vehicle away from obstacles.
