Yaar, nothing against the original engine, but firstly its very expensive and hard to find. Secondly it is slightly under-powered or rather under-torqued at low rpms. Until the MIVEC kicks in at around 5000 rpms, the original engine struggles a bit especially if caught in the wrong gear on sand. Now us "normal" drivers may still live happily ever after with the original one, but Qasim felt that he needed a little more grunt to compete with the big rally boys running turbo charged engines.... Whether the 2JZ GTE is the right or the optimal choice here, can, was and will continue to be debated for sometime, but hopefully we can get a satisfactory enough result with what we are up to out here!
