If you mean to say how it looks from outside, the overall shape then I am afraid THe Road Clearance in that pretext is very less... AND if you Referring road clearanceTo the gap in between the Road And the Car's Under Piping, then Worry Not Buddy, We have Tested it five pessenger within City, Experiencing a Drive like Any other Day With no Handling or Braking issue At All... And Moreover, Took it to a 550 km journey to Sahiwal with Four persons and luggage, NoT EVEN A SInGLE Road clearance issue Came Across Even On the bumpy Tracks Of Village!(H)

my new swift is giving 10-11 kmpl although I use ac always but even in city I have long route sort of driving and make sure my rpm nevers goes beyond 3k!! this is not good any suggestions?

very light to little!! time myself so that I am on the road at the minimum traffic times avoid all places like Sh. Faisal during peak times and the maximum trip I have yet done is from clifton to airport n back late in the evening [very thing traffic resulting in very few brakings!!]

Buddy there could be a couple of reasons for experiencing high fuel consumption with your swift.

1. Check your air pressure of all the four tyres, get it adjusted to the prescribed unit mentioned on your drivers door beam. And yes it has drastic impact on the mileage you get.
2. Be persistent with your petrol brand and try refilling it on full tank basis with only tested and authorised company operator. I will recommend you shell.
3. Get your car tunned by suzuki authorized dealer with that advance gadget plugged somewhere under the steering along with the allignment check.
4. Lastly but not least use fully synthetic oil for your swift, it would give you great mileage along with performance and dont delay oil change.
   I hope you experience a positive change in your fuel consumption after you act upon the above suggestios and try to switch of your engine on the signals with waiting period more than 60 sec. With the grace of Almighty Allah our swift gives ous a very satisfactory milleage of 14-16 depending on the route irrespective of the a.c. Do give us feed back of your experience afterwards on an evaluation based on full tank consumption.

Below is what i get from workshop manual of swift whose link i have given above, hope this will help and resolve your issue along with suggestions by h211186:

Poor fuel economy or engine performance

1.Possible cause1:Incorrect ignition timing Correction :Check related sensors and CKP sensor plate.

2.Possible cause2: Faulty spark plug(s) or high-tension cords Correction: Adjust, clean or replace.

3.Possible cause3: Faulty ignition coil assembly Correction: Replace.

4.Possible cause4Faulty CKP sensor or CKP sensor plateCorrection: Clean, tighten or replace.

5.Possible cause5Faulty CMP sensor or sensor rotor tooth of camshaft Correction: Clean, tighten or replace.

6.Possible cause6 Faulty knock sensor Correction: Replace.

7.Possible cause7 Faulty ECM Correction: Replace.

I think above listed troubleshooting list may not be applicable if your vehicle is new as in the beginning there may be some fluctuations in the consumptions. In addition to points by h211186 i will also suggest below:

• Get your air filter cleaned every time you get your car washed.
• Fill the tank till auto shut off(tuc sound) and not more after it and tightly secure the cap.
• Don't take the fuel level below quarter and get it filled before that.
• Don't accelerate the vehicle fastly from stop or dead slow, accelerate slowly.
• Don't make sudden stops it wastes a lot of energy, slow down gradually when u have to.

I hope this will help , i am getting a mileage of 12-15 in city.

overall i am satisfied with the quality of the ride! its way better than the ps crappy cultus etc

my fuel consumption is based on only 2 fill ups!! also when my engine is cold it takes quite a long sulf to start!! and yes i never let my fuel gauge drop below half and I fill up from PSO pump near the PSO building [company operated]

Get it checked from suzuki with OBD(on board diagnostic system) on 1000 checkup. If there is any issue it will be reolved hopefully.

I went for my 1000 service... the oil they use is shell!!

I plan to switch to some other brand like Petromin/Zic (by the way what are you using Sdogar?)

Also plan to change spark plugs @ 10000 and get myself Denso IK20/NGK iridiums

Yups those spark plugs Rock and bro if you want your swifts avg to increase to 14 then do make sure you keeping the right air pressure level in the tyres as prescrcribed by the Swift Japan, which is embeded on your driver side door panel on a steel plate!

don't be fooled, the car that won all those awards has nothing to do with the substandard machines offered/built in pk. Even i was (foolishly) expecting great things from paksuzuki this time and was hoping that they released this car with the correct (safety) spec but sadly they didn't,.. Otherwise i might have bought one as well.

In pk it seems a "big" engine and airconditioning are more important than safety features, and as long as we keep buying these cars they'll keep the standards low. As i mentioned above, i also would like to have a swift in my driveway as a daily runner, but my desire to be safe/alive is more important and i can't wait till the rest of this counry wakes up and realizes that as consumers they can control the standards of the markets.

Anyhow this is your thread about your new purchase, i'm very happy for you that you have bought a new car, i just wish it had more safety items as standard. Enjoy and drive safe buddy.

I get the oil changed from suzuki(u should because it is warranty requirement and get the entry from delalerships in warranty booklet), they provide ZICA and that is i am using.For iridium plugs go for the type mentioned in owner's manual only.
