Ledger's performance in the dark Knight is an absolute beauty, he simply took the movie to a whole other level. Michael Caine is a seasoned artist, i'm rather shocked to hear that incident, guys like him seldom make a mistake. I'd agree to disagree on your opinion about Bale's performance, He's one of my favourite actors when it comes to performance, the guy puts a real effort in his acts. Christopher Nolan is a unique one in his field, his movies hold a separate chamber in my heart, The prestige and transcendence are my all time favourites. Although he seems to have a real thing for comic fictions, a genre I don't admire much. Maybe because of an abundance of shitty movies in that class. But his movies like "Momento" really keep reminding me of his classic direction. I'm a huge fan of Bale, how can I miss a movie like The machinist when I've watched his movies like laurel canyon more times than I could remember? The Nolan's movie you're talking about is "following", it's a great movie but the only downside is that it's black and white, I don't know why can't I create an interest in such movies, TBH I never watched "Schindler's list" just because it's black & white, the only movie that I like in that class is "Citizen Kane", it's a very old movie but a real piece of art.
