Watched "The Nun" in IMAX but it didn't turn out to be as scary as I expected it to be. Annabelle Creation was a level above (watched that one in cinema too).

In my opinion:

Horror:
Drag me to hell, The Exorcist, Blair Witch Project (1999), Evil Dead Remake (Better and scarier than the original!), Clover Field, Get Out + A few others!

Psychological thriller:
Taxi Driver, Ex Machina, No country for old men, Shutter Island, The Sixth Sense, The Gift, Happy Death Day + quite a few others! This is my favorite movie genre, BTW. So if you know any good movies; do let me know.

Comedy & Black Comedy:
Harold & Kumar Trilogy, Borat, King of Comedy, Shaun of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World's End, Cabin in the woods, Kick-Ass, Fargo, The Fifth Element, Back to the future Trilogy, Forrest Gump and most movies starring Jim Carrey, Will Ferrell and Ben Stiller.

And I'm pretty sure I'm missing quite a few gems here and there.

Evil Dead Remake (Better and scarier than the original!)

that matter is subjected to time man, and at that time nothing came even close to the original Evil Dead. I remember when I watched it at that time (somewhere in the 1990s, I was around 10-12 maybe), i was so so soooo scared and got fever for days ... so, i can still relate to the dreadfulness of that movie at that time of course... Now those masks feel funny obviously : )

You made a BIG mistake by watching a Rated-R movie at such a young age... Scary movies can cause PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) in children.

There is a reason why you're not supposed to watch Rated-R movies till you're either 17 (With parents) or 21, if you want to watch alone!

But no one brings age appropriation into consideration here when it comes to movies and by the sound of it; The Evil Dead traumatized you as a child...

Thanks to that trauma , i like this horror genre more than any other now : )

You are right it IS not scary, but it WAS quite scary at that time...
I actually found the remake quite the opposite to your observation, dull and predictable : / didn't scare me at this age in time (maybe because I was looking for THAT kind of shock from the movie that I felt in the past ?)

The reason you found it predictable is because it's a 'remake'!

And at the end of the day; a remake is what it is, a remake! A movie based on the original.

But it certainly wasn't dull... I was hooked the moment I saw that possessed girl at the VERY beginning of the movie!

And secondly; I watched it at night, alone, so... That might have been a contributing factor as to why I regard it as highly as I do!

So if there's someone in for a lot of gore & blood, watch Revenge (2017), but beware there's a lot of nudity in it : /

I see a lot of nudity whenever I go to the bathroom.

But seriously, nude scenes are usually a compensation for the weak plot and lousy acting.

Titanic being a rare exception, of course!

awww ... you shall locate behind the scene director's commentary clips. to know few twisting facts about why it was filmed in Canada .. yes to make some REAL flesh scenes which US MPG restrict for under 16 audience. as Foreign film its rating is different for theatre release across US

Alternatively; get Netflix Subscription. They've a TON of movies and shows and I'm thinking about getting a subscription myself. They're even introducing Pakistani Dramas now although they are few and far between at the moment.

Just watched Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

If you expect it to be as good as its predecessor; then don't.

Remember what a great movie Jurassic Park (1993) was and how boring its sequel; "The Lost World" (1997) turned out to be?

Well, same is the case here!
