Less than two hours ago, the Supreme Court, in a hearing past midnight, dismissed their final petition, bringing to an end a case that changed a nation.

because he was not in US, and there was not enough evidence for her indictment under the EU law where they arrested her. They were heading for Russian border via finland where detective snapped them. She used the boy every time for the murders. besides she used famous art work for her messages, which she used to see at art gallery during her childhood with father ( in jail ) whom she called at end.

It seems there will be a sequel to it ..

Yes for sequel purpose otherwise it was a perfect time to end both those predators to save the journalist's life whom they were about to murder. There would have not been any legal consequences.
