Chery is working to lengthen their Riich M series lineup. After the M1, Chery is said to be rolling out the 2 seater M2 and an electric version of the 2 seater M2 called M3 EV.. The single row two-seater car will be handy in congested traffic, easy to park, and its small displacement will ensure very low fuel consumption..

The Riich M5 debuted back in March 2010 but made it to the market now. Riich is supposed to be Chery’s luxury brand, but at the same time they keep pumping budget cars in Riich, such as the M1 & now M5. This unusual and interesting looking M5 sedan cost between 48,800 to 62,000 yuan (6.18 lac PKR to 7.95 lac PKR). Engine is a 1.3l with 84hp and 1122nm. M5 measures 3905×1587x1527mm, with a wheelbase of 2330mm. Top speed is 150 km/h.

around 9 lac+ (roughly) this car would cost if we import it here , ( the 4.77lac version)

with a 4 star rating , it would not be a bad buy indeed ,

but then again , the god damn RESALE , and spare-parts , come in between.
this car has the potential to kill the ALTO.
only if it was available around 550k in the market , which is only possible if they start assembling it here ,

dont know when we would see a healthy and competitive auto market.

there are so many policies the government can make to allow imports at cheaper levels , while safeguarding the local market at the same time.

God knows what kinda idiots are our policy makers.

Chery’s Riich sub brand is on the verge of launching its own pure electric hatchback into the Chinese market place within the next few months. The M1 is Chery’s first mass produced electric vehicle and was on show at last years Shanghai Auto Show for the first time, the Riich M1 EV is well equipped with E-ABS and airbags and EPS.

Chery is one of the few automakers that can develop its own battery management system and batteries, which might potentially make it cheaper than other EV’s that buy in their batteries elsewhere. The M1-EV will come with a range extender that will be able to give the M1 a range boost to make it home, although exactly how this range extender works is still unclear.
