by this time we're famished and were ready to head out to an eating place...
the roads in the Nilgiris are a maze. unless you know where you're going you can end up in the middle of nowhere and God forbid...luckily our driver knew his way around and took us back to Coonoor through an alternative road and also to lunch..

stopped at this modern looking tavern for lunch, i was skeptical at first but i was wrong. i ordered Caesar's salad and the dish was perfect. i recommend this place to anyone going down this way...

and this seems like a perfect place to pause while wandering about in the Nilgiris....
after lunch we started the 23km drive back to Ooty and decided to end the day at Ooty lake before getting back to our resort. the time is 3pm...
Coonoor station of the Nilgiris Mountain Railway which is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. the train ride is an experience in itself and is on my list for the next trip. there's so much to see here...

loved this drive from Coonoor. the time is 4pm, the lake is open to visitors till 530pm but the sky is overcast, will it rain?. we made it just in time as you will see later as i wander through this thread...

Ooty lake revisited for the benefit of my co-passengers but i didn't mind. the air is always invigorating here and there's a carnival/arcade atmosphere that will bring out the inner child in anyone. it is a nice place to chill out...
