I also got my Ac service and there was no ac filter in it. Is there any way to adjust one in it.

I keeps it empty to get better flow .swift's filter can fit in though not exact .

@skill, Please tell me what to expect when going to 3S for a 55K check. My 2008 Liana has started backfiring a week ago both on petrol and CNG.

@nakafi back fire issue mostly rise when there is some thing messing with electrical system of the car and rarely due to wrong air fuel mixture often because of air filter box especially in Liana and baleno .Wrong timing may also cause the cars to back fire .May you shed some more light upon which moment your car started misbehaving .

I had no engine problem on CNG and Petrol in the pass 3.5 years. It started one fine Monday moring (usually drive ~70KM on weekdays). A brief summy of past events follows:

1. The only thing near air filter box (actually underneath it) is foundation which became noisy after it was changed two months ago (yet to be corrected).

2. I also found a pipe going into the engine (right side) under the CNG injectors loose but was put right back by my mechanic.

3. Six weeks back my fan (along with AC) malfunctioned. Extensive check by AC guys was inconclusive but after tinglings with a wire which was pressed againtst radiator assembly magically solved the problem. I mentioned this because on AC the backfiring (occasionally light patakha).

4. Today the speedometer needle goes haywire with orange light. This motivated me to seek your help.

I think airfilter cover issue was only with baleno never heard of this issue in liana

If check lamp is on then just hook up your car with a scanner it would be most probably a bad o2 sensor

Well, would you be able to post the pictures of foundation under air filter case and pipe which was loose ,I did not actually get .How speedometer needle goes wrong that's really new for me , does it go wrong while driving or while stationary ?
How often you wash your car's engine with water ?
Fan, you meant A/C condenser fan ? or radiator fan?

You took me differently , actually nothing wrong with air filters of both the cars when new. But with the time USTADs who replace air filters of cars during regular oil and filter change often mess with clips and break especially there are two plastic hooks on air filter box cover which are a bit tricky to open and shut back because of right hand fender's tight proximity .That is why I mentioned RARELY

At scanner part agree with you .What O2 sensor does have relation with speedometer needle ,I too want to know .

@saboor73 suggested O2 sensor issue due to engine light and speedometer behavior (it is while driving. This episode starts with the engine light, then the needle thing and goes away in minutes). I will visit 3S for this. Is there any other choice?

My 55KM car checkup is due. What other precautionary checks would you recommend at this stage before going for a 3000 KM trip up north next month. Inshaallah.

Oh ! I see, you were talking about Engine foundation afore ,do not want to see its picture ,know it very well.
Needle goes to 100 when you drive on 50/60 ?
Does needle only pretend it when Malfunction Indication Light comes on?

About 55k service it depends on how your 40k service was done and what were details of that work .Do you own this car before 40 thousand on the odometer ?

I purchased it at 22k. Regular engine and other Oils, air filter, plugs, throtle body clearning was done. 3S tuning done at in Nov'14.

The neelde goes up and done and then gets normal within 20-30 seconds.
