Now...I'm not much of an artist with Photoshop, so I'll explain our desired 'look' in words.
In the picture shown above, I'd want our front wheels to sit further forwards. We've already shifted the front suspension far ahead enough to be able to achieve this. The front will retain the iconic 40 series bumper. But the front bezel and grille, will sit much further backwards in relation to the wheels.
We won't fit the bonnet...although I'm tempted to say: it DOES look beautiful indeed. We certainly won't be keeping fenders or sidewalls (just like this picture).
The cabin is going to be stretched somewhat. Perhaps by about a foot or so. This will not only increase leg-room for me (I'm a tall man!), but will also add to the optical illusion of it being lower. Perhaps a couple of inches will be sliced/chopped off the roof...to add to this effect...and to give it more of the hot-rod / rat-rod look we're aiming for. Probably we'll want a roof-line that slopes downwards, sharply...in line with the overall effect that's desired.
Also, the cabin is going to be shifted backwards...so as to end about where the rear wheels begin. This should provide us with plenty of space for the engine to come in...and also, keep it mid-engined-ish, as I've stated earlier.
The rear pickup tub is going to be small, if we keep it at all. Narrowed, so as to fit between the rear wheels. The only items present in the tub will be the twin smokestack exhausts...if we decide to go that route. An alternative to the dual chimneys will be side-pipes that run along the bottom edge of the channeled body; further adding to the illusion of being lowered.
Finally...paint. I'm still undecided about this. After putting in so much effort, it'd almost be a shame to give it an unfinished look. I'm still holding out on this. If we do end up painting it, though...a colour scheme identical to the Phantom, will probably be what we choose.
Cheers.
