Nowadays, due to very strict and stringent Govt. policies and latest S.R.O., which requires payments to be made from abroad to Pakistan and supported with bank encashment certificate, etc. JDMs imports have almost come to a halt, so technically, it is almost near to impossible for us to import JDMs, unless / until we have blood relatives in Japan.
Previously, money used to go from Pakistan to Japan, etc. mostly via Hundi, Hawala, Money laundering, and other similar malpractices, etc. (which is a bad thing, no doubt and a second thought). To curb such practices, our Govt. decided that no money would go from here to abroad (it results in decreasing foreign reserves, etc. and when illegal channels are used, it badly damages our economy). Car will be bought abroad and when it will be exported to Pakistan, the duties, etc. will be paid in USD from abroad to bank account in Pakistan, and encashment certificate shall have to be produced to clear the car from port, etc. And that bank account in Pakistan must be of the person sending the car, or his / her blood relative.
