Tips for Baleno

I have baleen, with 1.6 engine, I have a little issue as my car run smoothly on CNG, but on petrol it nocking.. I have change the fuel pumps and the issue is still their, any idea what kind of problem it is?

My GTi had same issue. Do two things. Buy petrol from Caltex only. or Shell. No PSO. Try a mix of high octane 10 L with rest of tank with super. Also, you can add a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in a tank. But only use liqui moly.

Dear All,
Please help me in diagnosing a problem before i visit a mech. PRoblem is that my my car (Baleno JXR 2003) turns off on idle position on petrol and cng both. But when i turn on ac, it works fine on idle position as long as ac is runing. Please help me if it is a problem with coils or throttle body as its really hard to drive with such issues.

Hi,

I was too late to spot this thread and i have posted my query already, i dont know if that voilates the forum rules but i am looking for help only...

I own a Marvelous Baleno 2003 Recently i have noticed something strange which few CNG walas are not able to pick

[*]I have recently removed the Air Resonator to give it more air and pick - that really worked!!
[*]Now the idle RPM has shoot from 1000 to 1500 or even 2000 sometimes - sometimes its normal to 1000 !!!
[*]I have noticed that there is a check engine light 'on' all the time or most of the time when the RPM are abnormal i.e. > 1000 But when its off the RPM are stable !!!
[*]RPM drops on AC to less than 1200 as well!!!

I think there is some sensor issue, i want to locate that particular sensor if that's the issue so that i can go to the CNG wala with confidence as most of them are thugs or anari!!

Get it scanned,it may be because of faulty cam / crank & map sensors,make sure connection of these sensors are cleaned & properly tight.some time sticky IAC valve could be one of the source of this problem.

Please tell me what should i do to avoid car heatup as i think i am having my car heated up a bit like fan is direct but guage goes above mid on ac on and mid in normal in these type of weather conditions. Please tell me if it is normal with fan direct position.

Baleno '99, 1300 cc. I used to get the engine oil changed from Caltex at Super Market, ISB. They have the option of using the dispenser with digital meter, and they always put 3.75 L. Last time I got the oil changed from Caltex at F-10, ISB, and the guy told me that my baleno only has the capacity of 3.5 L. This is baffling because at Super Market Caltex I always checked the meter at the dispenser AND the dip stick and it was always exact, and so is the case with my latest experience at F-10 - the guy put 3.5 L and the dip stick showed the level exactly as it should be. Can anyone please confirm what should be the quantity of engine oil for 1300 baleno? Thanks.

To check ignition coils health measure its resistance, for baleno it should be in between 11.1 kilo ohms to 14.9 kilo ohms.Physically incase of bad coil you will observe hard starting & lack of power prblems.
If you want to check current leakage,its better to open up bonnet in dark and start the engine,incase of leakage you will observe arc(spark) with sound.
Never get the fan direct because it will affect on engine performance,its normal for temperature gauge needle at middle.To avoid heat up keep the radiator & A/C condenser fins clean,and maintain water & oil level.

It is happening because of current drooping on cng,Check battery tower terminal for proper tightening,check body ground wire for proper connection,check alternator out put on load,Check cng conversion switch it could be defective.

Thanks brother, I went again to mechanic, he just opened air filter box tighten the rubber in the pipe sealed it and everything works fine again...

Your mechanic has just blocked the air to enrich the cng mixture to over come this problem,but it is not a permanent solution.

My mechanic does the same, he just puts a card in the pipe and that's it. After every few months the car starts missing and backfiring and he just increases the size of the card, i-e, lets less and less air into the combustion process. Last time he used an empty pack of lays and thrust it into the pipe, leaving just a small space for air. After three days the car started backfiring again so I opened up the pipe and the part of the pack inside the pipe was missing! I took out the pipe from the throttle end too and looked inside the pipe but it was nowhere. Is it possible that it has gone past the butterfly and into the throttle body?!?!?! Can it be dangerous? It's evening and the mechanic is not available otherwise he'd be having a hard time right now...

Salam. I bought baleeno 2003 model last month. In start it work smoothly but after 2 or three days it start creating problem for me..Firstly it backfire on cng again and again..i checked my car to mechanic and he advice to change the coils.I changed coils from islamabad ( mithu ka ahata ) of 7000 pk rps. sathmain gari gi patrol aur cng par setting b karwai..rpm 1 sai aik point neechy adjust hoa..after two days car start prob again..cng par some time airbag sai awaz aty hai and on patroll bohat missing kar rhy hai...some time when you release accelerator gari ka rpm down hota hai aur gari band ho jhaty hai....and some time gari start nahi hotyy..pahly to usski cables ko hilana parta hai than it start...otherwise coils ko nikalna parta hai...pls help me in this regard.

i have a lot of experience of using and maintaining baleno all types of balenos.its really a marvelous car of suzuki.but little diffferent to maintain from other cars.if u have some problems discuss with me on this forum.B-)

I am having similar prob and i,ve changed the coils as well. but some time it backfire on cng.Secondly sometime gari patrol par missing karty hai aur band ho jaty hai...is this fuel injector prob or coilgrip ?? bcas kabi gari start nahi hottyy..ya too wiring ko hilana parta haii ya kisi aik coil ko bahr nikalna parta hai then car start...otherwise current to jaty hai agay but gari start nahi hotyyy..plss help.

Today one mechanic told me that replacing coils with distributor will solve this backfire problem in my '99 baleno. Does anyone have any experience of this conversion? Results? expense? Thansk.

Yesterday a very tragic incident happened with me, I wanted to run the engine of my baleno 2005 it was taking the self but engine wasn't getting started. Then I opened up the bonnete of my car and found out that there was no water in the radiator. So I started filling up the water in the radiator, then after filling up almost 10ltrs of water I realized that the water wasn't brimming to the top(it wasn't even visible), then I checked beneath the radiator, whether the water is leaking out or not and I acknowledged it, that no water was leaking. But when I took out the dip stick, the dipstick was having milky oil in it(the color turned white), the same went with the engine. A nearby taxi driver said to me that your gasket has been blown out. I shall be grateful to you if any one of you could provide me any help on this. What has happened, is it right that the gasket has been blown up? and if so, how much the suzuki motor will cost me in islamabad.

Engine oil being whitish are a sure sign of blown head gasket.get it fixed as soon as possible otherwise ur engine will be.........
