Tips for Baleno

Recently i purchased a baleno 2003 model, the car is good indeed but have issues like backfiring and slow acceleration on cng in 2nd gear (without ac), it has done 200k ....

I got the car checked by a mechanic and he told me not to go for new coils(for back firing) as it will cost me around 16k and the same issue will arise after some time even if i don't wash the engine, instead he advised me to convert it to carb cam(which i believe came in the earlier models of baleno's) and that will cost around 12k and assured me that , by dong so i'll get better millage and pick.... currently the car gives 160km in 55kg cylinder.

Kindly enlightened me... what will be best in said scenario...

PS: the car has FF CNG and starts directly on cng n the cng switch is manual, and as per my observation the car's advancer is removed.

restoration back to ff spec is better than obeying these mechanics,coils issue is not a big issue,you can find qabli coils in 6k to 8k in junkyard with shopkeepers guarantee.

i faced the similar issue today of back firing and missing. did a lot of khuwari some said plug wires, some said coils, some said air filter and one said engine over haul.lolz. but in the end found a mechanic who did the job for me for free.
He went under the car. took out the censor from the oil chamber, cleaned it dipped it in oil and installed it back and there u go no missing no back firing smooth acceleration. he didnt charged anything but said i like working on balenos and lianas as they are unique.

This sensor is called ''crank position sensor'' and installed behind the crank pulley at oil chamber.

I heard that washing baleno engine troubles u, need suggestion for it?

@salal_abid15 yeah heard the same .....its no good n of no use ... engine should be cleaned internally

Yes that is crank sensor and easily available in 1.4k denso japan new.

Use kangroo's engine degraser worth 350 rs,otherwise get meguiar's engine cleaner from shehryar ''dubai autos'' in 1.1k.

this is what happened at regular intervals
1st tappet cover seal leak.
then clutch plates,pressure plates,clutch bearing.
then oil chamber seal leakage
then timing belt seal leak
then engine main seal leak.
then tappit cover seal leak again
and now oil chamber seal leak again...

apart from it new suspension and two times suffered engine miss fires.
i am fed up with the leaks now.my question is why every week its one of the seals leak.?????????????????

Use original seals - work fine for atleast 3 years. It will cost u high though. I changed 2 years back and still my engine is complete dry.

Also when fitting oil chamber - mechanics used too much silicon somtimes, due to which distance of crank sensor increases and u faced problem in starting and miss-firing issue.

And when u visit mechanic - Sir G, COILS kharab hain, ye problem sab Balenos mein hay.

Actually U r in Karachi.

I think Geniun Seals should be available with authorized suzuki dealers or contact Suzuki.

Buy origional ''cortico'' oil seals and use origional ''Redseal'' as silicon.

Make effort to keep oil much clean,seal place at crank shaft and at cam shaft should be tooled before installing new seals if the place have any ring circle.

Want to share an observation and ask if it happens with other Balenos as well....

After cleaning Throttle Body the rpm stays at 1.1~1.5 at idle resulting in excellent response and pick. Driving for few days 200-300Kms the rpm comes down to normal 0.8 (W/o AC) & 1.0 (AC) but that excellent response and pick is no longer there.

Although overall the car is doing fine but just getting curious what happened just after throttle body cleaning ?

Nothing too odd just reset the rpm.

can u plz explain the RPM drop problem of baleno in detail with solution PLZ. (at both petrol and CNG).
