Never Bypass your "ECT" Temperature Controller Sensor . Keep your Car Controller system in Default value.

Yes I Know Its Laser Type Temp Sensor Usually Used To Mesaure LINE Temperature And Using At Crucial Places Where Normal Thermometers Just Can't Work

Here is detail work to Remove the ECT fault.

As you know about ECT Controller work on resistance base, Temp sensor gives 5.74kohm @ 0C & 0.298 – 0.320 ohm @ 80C.
it means temperature effects on resistance. resistance effect on ECM by the flow of voltage 0-5vdc.
Low engine coolant temperature (High voltage-High resistance) 5vdc & 5.74kohm Resistance
High engine coolant temperature (Low voltage-Low resistance) 0vdc & 0.298 – 0.320 Resistance

My ECT controller was giving various resistance value to ECM.due to this various resistance value ECM was also not giving output voltage to radiator Fan Relay.

so i put a resistor 4.7kohm between two wire coming from ECT sensor to improve this various resistance value.
Now Temperature controller working perfectly & its response time is very fast.

By having a resistance in parallel you are effectively giving a wrong temperature value to your ECM. Like when the car will be cold your car computer will be reading some temperature as effective resistance of your thermistor and additional resistance would be roughly half the 5.7k which may result in bad choke when the car starts. You ca discuss it with me on Phone 0300 8465671 as i am also facing this issue but yet to find any solution

Salaam, my czn's cultus efi 2008 heated up yesterday. We were quite distant from our home and workshop. So we had to carry the car to a nearby workshop. The mechanic identified a faulty stuck thermostat valve. So he removed the valve and removed the attached cable. This made the radiator fan work directly irrespective of the heat of the engine. Today we went to our own workshop and the waterbody had also jammed up. We had replaced the water body but the thermostat valve was not available at any of the spare parts shop. So the valve was not installed. Furthermore, the mechanic had to do some wiring because he said that the removal of the thermostat valve disables the fan too. The fan wont turn on even if the water has reached the desired temperature. Now the car is operating without thermostat valve and has a direct fan. Experts plz guide what to do now. I was hoping that even with the removal of the thermostat valve, the radiator fan should function automatically. The car has been fed with coolant for the past one year. @xulfiqar @salman922 @capsat @zainmahdi @nightshade @khalid.shafqat @tintin1 need ur help guys

T-valve has nothing to do with fan. If fan is not working chect temerature sensor. In Cultus this is responsible for showing temp and making fan work. Also check fan relay. I am assuming all rest of the wiring is in good condition

That is what I fail to understand. My mehran does not have a t stat valve but still the fan works automatically. What's up wid cultus efi??? Every mechanic and electrician says that it doesn't work if the valve is removed

There is absolutely no connection b/w T valve and fan's wiring. If you talk about non efi Mehran, its Auto fan switch in lower part of radiator with no connection with T valve that is why your fan was working normally

I was expecting the same to happen in cultus efi. But the champion ustaads convinced me into wiring the fan as direct. And now I am regretting it

Maybe because many people don't bother buying it when it gets faulty. They just remove the faulty valve and keep using car. Its like almost totally out of demand thing so small auto vendors dont keep it in stock. Btw it is not that rarely available in big Auto markets like Montogomery Road in Lahore.

Just tell your cousin get a new valve from a 3S dealer; they are bound to have it. Our Civic once had the same problem 2 years ago (stuck thermostat valve). We simply got it replaced with a new valve; it caused no trouble since. It did run without a thermostat for a week or so; the fan stayed auto during this time.

After getting a new valve; help your cousin get the cooling system back to factory specs. There are numerous posts here on how to get this done.

Bonus tip: a car's water body should be replaced during a timing belt change.
