@mitsu_man What should be the price of a 1992 Exceed 2.4. One is advertised on PW @ 7 lacs which I found a bit suspicious, it shouldn't be that cheap?? Should I opt for a 5 door 89 or a fully loaded 3 door 86One thing i ve noticed about old Pajero's is the taping in dashboards.
Waiting for your expert reply please
@veitnam meant to say that there's no engine and gear in the jeep and it will be sold without winch also
@shamaal Got it bro,I also guessed the same but since never owned a 4X4 I thought it must be some special device on it lolz.
Pajero is a good thing to start with .
Better try to find any thing 89-93 But should be 4D56 TDI
As the one with 4m40 are expensive .
Rocky can also be a cheap option to start with .
any old jeep means get ready to visit workshops every week as they been driven hard clocked, suspension knackered injectors alot of work be ready for that! and 7km to a ltr average in city!Isuz trooper isnt bad used by FC in KPK parts arent available easily, get the landcruiser 3 door or pajero non turbo 3 door 1993 model.
@joinami and @crashd thanx a lot for your valuable suggestions. A 1990 Pajero 1990 with Toyota 3S (originally owned by legendary actor Mohd Ali) is up for offer, looks pretty decent. They're asking 5.5, I've offered 4.5. Will keep you guys posted. Thanx
If 4x4 is connected and working than go ahead otherwise not a good idea .
@joinami thanx stayed away from that Pajero, 4X4 not working. Also read one of your earlier comment in thread to avoid 3S engine on Pajero. Still looking for that 1st 4x4.................
A friend recently got a 90 3 door pajero painted it black spent alot changed engine islamabad number with shahzor engine car is a pain every day at workshop tweeking this or that not worth it toyota are better than most!
Ohhh so these old Pajero's are a big gamble, you mean???? What about 1990-91 Prado??
Yes a beat up Pajero or Prado will take u everyday to Mechanic Baba. Try to get 1990 Pajero 3 Door probably with 2.5TDI. Specially if it's body changed than do ask for body tax. If its all good than go for it. 5 door has 4 coil springs which is quite comfortable compared to 3 door. But finding one in pristine condition is becoming very difficult nowadays.

Sorry I have no clue about the SUVs world ...but if ever I decided to jump into this lane, 4x4 wali, and that too with a limited budget, I might look for a 'baby jeep' ... something like a 110cc cc Mini Pajero. Because I believe the newer is always better. (You can paste a sticker on the back saying 'bara ho mein Pajero banoongi' )
@tm well said " bars ho ke men Pajero banongi" hahahahaPersonally feel the older Pajero's and Prados are far more robust and reliable with their 4X4 capabilities. The newer ones are more SHO SHA
Trooper is a capable rig provided you can source the parts.......And running after parts halfway around the world is not my idea of owning something unless its a collector's piece.....Anything from the 80's and 90's would be a workshop visitor.....Frequent......Maybe.....Even if its the Pakistani's fav brand 'Yota.....Remember it is 2016.....If size and long hauls are not a consideration.....Get a Pajero Mini or a Jimny 2012-3.....Otherwise rest all bigger and seriously older 4x4s.....Shall tune you up as a mechanic for sure!
@mitsu_man Thanks a lot for the valuable suggestions. Will look as you advised but I guess size and space is a requirement. Will keep you posted. Yup the fear of visiting mechanics is there in the back of my mind that slows down my quest for a 4X4
Hi all. What is the max price I should pay for a 1990 Pajero 2.5 TDI?? Its fully genuine, apparently no work at all (excellent engine, body & suspension). Asking price is 7.5 lacs. Plz quick replies before the Jeep is sold. Regards
3 door or 5 door? Body changed? Registration city? These are the factors which decide the price.
@babarhyd Its a 3 door and Karachi registered and body is original
Than price should be in the bracket of 5-6 lakhs. Only if its in immaculate condition like brand new than 7.5 is reasonable.
@babarhyd Thanx bro. Obviously its not brand new, yes it is sparingly used and seems newer than a lot of Pajeros on the road. I offered 6.5 but no response. I'll go for 6.75 max when i meet him again tomorrow.
