The road condition from Lillah interchange till PD Khan (the place from where you turned left for Khewra and went to two CNG stations) isn't that bad as described. There are small patches which are bad but overall road isn't bad. I travel on this route frequently because my village is between Khewra and PD Khan. However the road from Chakwal side is very bad and still under construction from many years.

Thinking to visit Khewra Salt mines and Katas Raj Temple from Islambad in December. Do you think its better to use M2 upto Lillah Town interchange and go to khewra is better than using Kallar Kahar interchange and then head to Choa Syedan shah and khewra?

بہت شکریہ سراہنے کا۔ جی یقیناً بہت مزہ آیا۔ آپ نے ٹھیک کہا کہ اتنا بھی برا نہیں ہے راستہ ۔ جیسا کہ میں نے کہا کہ موٹر وے کا اتنا مزیدار سفر کرتے کرتے عادت خراب ہوگئی تھی شاید اسی لیئے وہ راستہ اور بھی خراب لگنے لگا۔ اوپر سے پوری رات کا سفر اور تھکن!!!
اگر پہلے معلوم ہوتا کہ آپ بھی اتنی خوبصورت جگہ کے رہنے والے ہیں تو ایک ہفتے کا قیام کرلیتے۔۔

You can use both the routes however Kallar Kahar - Katas - Choa Sedan Shah - Khewra route is more picturesque. You will have to climb and then descend mountains of salt range after Choa Sedan Shah so make sure your vehicle's brakes are good.
Use motorway M2 to reach Kallar Kahar, as I have mentioned earlier, the Chakwal route is in pretty bad condition.

بھائی کیا یہ رفتار سست ہے ؟ میرا تو پورا سفر نامہ تیار ہے لیکن ایک ایک کر کے اس لئے پوسٹ کر رہا ہوں تاکہ لوگ آرام سے پڑھتے جائیں ۔ دوسرا یہ کہ پاک وہیلز میں تصاویرلگانا کافی صبر آذما کام ہے۔ باقی ہوٹلوں کے نام اور خرچے وغیرہ آخر میں شامل کر دونگا۔ انشاللہ۔
