Day 6: 08 Sep 2015 - Roaming around in Hunza & Karimabad Baltit & Altit Fort
Next day was plan to visit Khunjrab Pass, we woke up at 9: 00 am had our breakfast and left Eagle's nest at 10:30 am, some rumors were there that the tunnel is opened or not. Because the official opening of tunnel was still due and some construction work was also going on. We planned to take a chance to go through the tunnel. Reached near tunnel and it was closed, requested duty police officer that if he let us go through the tunnel. All in vein, but he suggested us to go to the Chinese Head Office located in Karimabad and directly request to Chinese. We went back to Karimabad to Chinese head office and met with Chinese officer and requested her.
Oops he was so straight forward and blunt, said NO. Because there is some construction work going on and he will not allow to go through the tunnel. Well it was bad as we were not expecting NO answer. As it was to late to go to Khunjrab and coming back to Hunza, we decided to roam around in Karimabad Bazar and Altit, Baltit Fort. We spent our day roaming around in Karimabad and visiting both forts. Few pictures are here to share.
