Your suggestion certainly seems appropriate as swapping engines is not going to be an easy task specially for someone like me who has never been into such stuff. I have planned to remove cng although it wouldn't make much difference other than the weight reduction as i am already driving on petrol mostly. As for changing the car, well its not really all about the uncertainties associated with a 2nd hand car. Its more due to the affection associated with this one

true that mate, Attachment is sumthing very important. We bought this car back in 1998 and since then it has been with us.

It also got stolen from rawalpindi and was recovered from mardan the next day :). So u know how attached i am to it.

Ill surely keep u updated. I have come across this advice of getting 1.3dohc efi engine which is gud on economy and performance aswell.

Inshallah well be looking at everything complete within a month from now

I have a CA4 Accord, 22 years old running on CNG, I also have a 2005 Civic, I never felt that my Accord is slow any day, it easily does 60Km/hr in 2nd gear in around 7 seconds.

2E is also a reliable engine, very suitable for local conditions.

People are running 15 years old 34HP Mehran (with only half the power remaining in engine) fine on CNG.

4EFE with complete swap will cost you around 75K, plus your car value would decrease 50K straight up.

However, best of luck and do make a blueprint for your swap.

2E is now around 25 Yrs Old Engine as it was introduced in 1985 in Corolla E80 Gen its not either good on Petrol but on CNG for Local Conditions its best although sluggish but in city have no room for speeds, as u hardly can manage to move to 3rd Gear.

If daily (Office) runner thn Xe is good.

The 2E engines appeared in both carbureted and fuel-injected versions. The 2E-TE, appearing in 1986, was a turbocharged engine producing 101 hp (75 kW). A later version, the 2E-TELU produced 110 hp (82 kW). But yet to come across any Fuel Injected or Turbo charged in Pk.

I had experiance of driving 4 EFE and 2 E well to be honest not much difference.

Now regarding 2E no doubt its a old engine but i still travel 120 on motorway on this engine and leave behind almost all new corolla's with new engines.

Now when u compare 2e with 4e engine than compare it on petrol.

I see every one talking about switching to new technology i mean its good to talk about new engines here but have you ever seen one 4e engine with complete wiring or sensors? Can you name few electritions who understand this?

Now the reality is i know a friend who got this nicely swaped engine and no good tuner who got computer to check engine want to touch his car reason they say its swapped so sorry cant help.

I will only go for swap if i can find half cut of 4e or 4a engine otherwise khawari sara saal kee.

2e will be doin around 10 to 11 KMPL local and you will spend 50 thousand and swap a new model engine with khawari and what you gona get? 12 KMPL i mean for 1 KMPL u will change the face of this original condition car?

Unless ur a speed freak and you are going for 1.8 i would suggest you leave the car as it is and get it tune properly.

brother in my opinion you should go for the 4EFE.. why? because its a 1.3 so it has good economy .. it has enough ummphh to get the corolla goin easily.. it'll run superbly on petrol.. due to it being E series you'll never feel any vibrations even if you have a busted foundation.. it doesnt break down easily.. it'll fit bolt on to your car without need for any modifications.. its very light and parts are available everywhere.. I've owned 1nz, 2nz, 4efe, 4efte, 4afe, 5afe, r18 etc etc and considering what you want 4efe will be best for you..if you keep it in petrol it'll just be a matter of turning the key, filling her up and changing the oil once in a while..
