A very neutral an unbiased observation as under:
Since the 90's when the Chiasees & Athaasees (Corolla's 86 & 88) invaded Pakistan like the way Locusts have invaded Sindh, nothing but customer groans and moans have been heard. Bloody bemaaris I tell you. While my family and friends were struggling with keeping these vehicles on road I bought (for home/family use) a 0 meter Santro Club GV, used it for 3 years and sold it at invoice price. Didnt even change the Dunlops I installed on the way back from the showroom. Then bought a 0 meter Cultus VXRi, used it for 11 years and sold it at a very good price. Again went for a Alto VXLi and Allhumdulillah satisfied. Why am I satisfied? Because apart from consumables and the 20k, 40k.....mileage service(s); never faced any problems. You think I like spending 1.5 million for a 660 PKDM?? YES!!! Reason? I dont want my family to be standing on the road, I dont want to be visiting scrapyards looking for parts more rare than a Rhinoceros' horn, I dont want to gaze at a useless car taking up space in my garage while I am waiting for a drugged up mechanic/electrician/programmer to come and experiment on my vehicle and then present me with a bill which would easily get me a used 70cc motorbike. In all these years (since 90's), everyone I know who bought a used Japanese vehicle ultimately sold it at a loss after injecting capital and time on the useless piece of junk we Pakistanis so fondly refer to as "Yapaani Gaddi Jay Parah G, Aidi Drive Da Mazaa Hi Hore Jay". Peace
I have deliberately not mentioned the high end Hondas and Toyotas kept over the year.
