Congratulations on your purchase. I haven't seen many C-HRs on the roads in Islamabad. They don't seem to be popular but having gone through the reviews on your tube I seem to like it a lot.
How is your experience so far? Did you import it or bought it locally? How much did it cost you?

By reading the comments here, please dont mind, one thing cane into my mind, whats the benefit then buying almost 4.6mil car and still going to workshops, and trying to find the problem.

Its imported. Cost around 46.50 without registration. so far it feels much better than a Vezel but still there are a few things that are bugging me. I sold my Vezel on 150,000KM . All that drive in one almost one year. When i touch 100,000 on my CHR then I will write a detail review about it and my experience with a detail comparison with Vezel. So lets see what the coming months brings for me.

Well some time even a brand new vehicle can break down. these are just machines, a bit smart but machines that can break down even if they are new. I took it to the mechanic because it was giving me half of the mileage that Toyota was claiming. The vehicle is in a more then perfect shape but we motor heads are always trying to explore and mine things that to some other ppl may not even matter. After all the investigation that I went through with my CHR here are the top 3 things identified that are the main cause of low mileage.

• Using 5W-30 engine oil. 0W-20 needs to be used. Thicker oil is one cause of low mileage

• Winter is another reason that alone makes the car loose around 8km per liter according to some studies and research done on Hybrid vehicle % mileage loss in winter

• Winter tyres are another cause of low mileage.

So over all am loosing around 10 to 12km per liter because of the above 3 issues with my CHR.

On a lighter note , there is no need of buying a 4.6 million vehicle at all but if you have earned enough money yourself and you have the passion for it then I would vote for spending it rather than taking it to my grave or leaving it behind , else even a mehran can do the job well

Well i own a mehran too, Plus iwas checking out a CH-R that day, CHR got some killer looks, i didnt drive it, then i came across this thread, which almost break my heart to buy that.

What i think, and the things you mentioned and the mileage you are not getting, i dont think that may be the issue, i dont think everyone will look for the tires or winter or mobiloil for mileage upto the mark.
Okay, that will increase some of the mileage. BUT i didnt think it will increase 12kmpl.
Thats what i think.

About earning and spending, everyone has own thinking , way of living, taste of cars , everyone here has its own priorities. Lets not discuss that.

As i believe, discussion is the best way of learning, and im a student here, im learning, i might be totally wrong up here, these are my thoughts. Not implemented on any one.

sir i own a vezel and i think c-hr is more comfortable and better than vezel. for me the only things vezel has better than c-hr are acceleration, visibility and handling. Vezel is a excellent car so if c-hr is better than it in many aspects i expect it to be an excellent car too.

bro when i bought the car , I was heart broken too. I was expecting 28 in city. But u know you have to understand every vehicle that u keep as one can not deal with every vehicle the same way. I thought i was better with Vezel as i still like the cabin design more.
But after keeping this car for some time and tweaking minor things the results have improved. Sometime minor changes can make big difference , like using the right oil in the right weather and temperature. I have just switched the old to 0W-20, with a light tuning of spark plugs , air filters and oil filters again and cleaned the catalytic converter again and the results were surprising. I got 26km/l in city and after driving it on motorway from Peshawar to Mardan with an average speed of 115km-125km/h i got 20km/l.
Well its not 35 as Toyota is claiming and i still have winter tyres on so i believe if switch to all terrain tyres , it will make a difference of at least 2km/l more.
Am a student as well learning and exploring new things that i can get my hands on and its always fun to research into minor details and explore. so am gonna keep this car max for 2 years and i ll rip it open to explore and understand every bit of this machine just the way i did with my Accord , Vezel and my 1971 VW beetle. The only difference is that I am not selling my 1971 bug. am gonna grow old with it.

No car ever does the mileage the company claims because the mileage they share is calculated in controlled environment like clean proper airflow. All new filters and plugs and everything. New tires. Best temperature and at a speed of 60-80 to get the best mileage and they share those figures so in reality its always lower.

Suzuki claims 35 on my Alto JDM. and the max i have gotten is 30 on motorway at the speed of 72kmph. which no one will ever drive at 72 to get the best mileage. I get 20 within city so im still happy

my CHR 1.8G gives actual 22km/l; city driving in usual busy hours (karachi).

Hybrids shine in ideal conditions, and in my experience, I have found that they give the best mileage for the trip where the car can run at constant speed on battery, i.e. 65-85km/h. On such trips, you will see mileage of 30+ (even 35+), but they will get averaged out by bad days, where the engine is used a lot and the hybrid cannot reach its potential.

CH-R's hybrid system and the engine are the same as Prius Gen 4, and being a small SUV, it is heavier, so its mileage will be less than Prius, but overall, it should give 20-22km/l. Overall, Prius gen 4 is a very efficient platform, and mileage wise it'll be above ICE-only cars by a significant margin.

Also watching videos and learning how to drive hybrids better will also help. It takes a lot of patience to drive a hybrid to really get the mileage benefit, and it takes very little push to bring the mileage down to close to Civic/Corolla 1.8. You want to keep that engine off as much as possible, and avoid accelerating/decelerating and start-stop on the batterys too. Take the slower lane if it allows you to stay at constant speed. Add 5-10 mins to your 30-min trips.

You are right, I own chr 1.8 and highly disagree with sunil dont know what makes him do vlog to makes things fly, being a doctor and psychological assessment most reviews are biased and based on his own choice

Kindly also tell me how did your Vezel perform in northern areas as i have heard it has transmission issues.
I also bought a Vezel 2015 and iam a frequent traveller to the north.Iam afraid that is would break down on me kindly tell me how does it perform

Ive taken mine on some steep uphills when we had our trip to mushkpuri top, car performed excellent just make sure you've changed your actuator fluid (locally called clutch oil), not to be confused with the actual atf dw1. Mine is also 2015 went up without even a squeak there's no need to be afraid its robust car just requires the proper maintenance

I bought the car end of last year and the guy told me not to change the transmission and actuator fluid as he had done so before selling the car.It was driven 70000 and i have driven it 12k till now.So i think i dont need to change them right now.Thanks for the advice
