buri baat! it may happen to all vehicles whether suzuki, toyota, honda or others. I feel sorry for all those cars effected during the rain.

well, (i think) the reason for this is that when water become wild (Wavy) it start hitting the seals at the bottom of the car and start pushing them hard, and sometimes open them - letting the water coming inside the car like anything.

now the issue with your car is that the foam inside the carpet is all soaked and smelly - now you have to remove, clean and dry it properly to finish this thing and also make sure while doing this you do put some silicon or other sticking glue on the seals so next time you might dont become the unfortunate one.

HONDA people are charging 6000 for complete cleaning service, but i would advise you to check with some good local denter / mechanic.

it happened with my mehran in lahore during the last year rain.

i took out the carpet, which didnt take long. then i removed the stoppers in the holes and tried flush out the water out of those holes, when it became almost dried i left the windows open and parked it in sun. this helps to get rid of smell and dreis the car too. kept the carpet in sun too more than two days.

however i think that underlay of your carpet would probably be ruined though. i dont remember if teh mehran's had an underlay.

bhai the same thing happen in my 2.0d sr just bought it week before and all water was rushed inside the car during rain........i straight away took car to toyota company and they took out the water and changed the carpet free of cost u also go there its there major fault and say them to change the carpet

If you want to do something yourself,follow what @archon2001 said,otherwise check those guys on new MA Jinnah Road footpaths adjacent to Dawood Engg. College who washes cars completely,I havent got any experience with them though.

Your both Corollas have got some leaks for sure,as I drove my 2005 Corolla Xli when rain was at full swing at around 9PM & roads were totally over flooded & I kept on driving car in extremely high level water specially at Sharah e Faisal the same night almost continuosly till next morning & literally water level was at height of my front grill emblem & engine sound was like GHOOB GHOOB & I had also heard water flowing under my car quite loudly,but not a single drop of water came inside,only lose I faced that water fused my headlight bulb due to its height.

Oh well in floods a lot of cars are effected and no matter what make they are they do get water inside ... even here when we have heavy rains a lot of cars are ruined and are declared total loss ...
and if ur car is not insured it costs a lot

well the prob is tht on the same lane as mine at the same level two vitz were standing and they did not got flooded, and my cruisetronic was also covered but still it got flooeded. so i guess imported cars are more reliable then our locally manafactured "dubas" i wud say.

So Finally went to toyota sharaefaisal, and was utterly surprised to hear wht they said, tht cr manager said " Never drive the new toyota in rain, because its engine is electronic which wud get jammed" hahaha, to which i said to him then whts the use of buying this 20 lakh car, v shud buy a 5,000 sohrab Anyways tht crack toyota cr manager said water wud go in all toyota cars, we cant cover it under warranty, u can go for the insurance, so the fact of the matter is like all things in pakistan the automobile comapnies are also a big mess especially toyota! My advice never buy toyota cars, donot knw abt honda, if this happens in tht car or not.

About Water Getting Into New Corolla...So There Might Be Some Leaks Under Or On Sides Making Water Inside....Or Water Levels Were To High Enough To Get Inn....!!

Possibly The Drains Boots Under Carpet Might Have Been Missing Or Leaked....!!

yar they just care abt money, got no concern over wht we have to say to them, tht dumb man was not acccepting the fact tht there is a defect in the manafacturing of toyota comapny. ya he had a dark complexion but he cud be another man.

u cant stop the water entering inside these car are not made for driving in the sea

mostly water enters from ground rubber stopper yahan log fankariyan kartay hain amp lagwatay hain fitter hole aisay he chor daita hai amp ki wire dalnay k bad remote lock lagtay hain to dosra hole aisay he chor daita hai to leak to hogi he bhai

proper way to clean carpet and all stuff u will have to take out whole carpet u will have to unscrew every thing seat ,console etc

a very friendly and effective suggustion i would give...go to ground zero in defence..he wil take approx 3000 for your car and he will be resposible for all the cleaning of your car.....he wil competely dismatle your car from inside and clean it up just like a brand new one

strange o hear all this :S...my old shape corolla usually has no problems in water.
friendly suggestion : write to indus, they are very friendly and helpful, they'll resolve your problem for sure
2ndly my cousins exi got water inside. the car was taken to amarpak drycleaners, who made it new :D, better to pay if u cant get for free=the cleaning since its a new car, but do write to indus (email)
