Hey Pakwheelers,
Could anyone please guide me where is the manual transmission oil dipstick located in Toyota Corolla 1.3 2NZ-FE? Is it accessible without disassembling anything?
Appreciate the assistance.
Usman,
Yeah it is accessible without disassembling. And it is on the top of the engine
On the top surface of engine
Could you give me a little hint where exactly on top surface of the engine? Thanks
Gear oil dipstick for manual 1.3 rolla? You sure? Never seen it before.
Bro - Do you mean it doesn't exist?. Really? If so, how do I go about checking the level/condition of the gear oil? I like to do stuff myself as much as possible. I just bought this rolla a couple weeks ago so still trying to get the hang of it.
I have never seen it before. For 1.8 cvt there is no dipstick though.
I have never seen transmission oil dipstick in any car. you can check it by opening the filling point of transmission oil.
I can't comment about all cars, however, for sure, transmission oil dipstick exists in Passo 2013 model (I have myself owned this ride, so, its confirmed).
Good to know some cars actually have transmission oil dipstick
Manual cars HV no dipstick And not all auto cars either (varies car to car)
Noted! In that case, how do I go about checking the gear oil level/condition? No way I can check?
if not a diy person a mechanic will un bolt the fill plug point and put his finger inside to check the level and eventually judge how good or bad it is
Manual transmission cars do not have dipsticks. Automatic transmission cars have a transmission dipstick and oil needs to be changed and monitored keenly.Newer cars with CVTs and newer auto transmissions are now not coming with dipsticks and you can't top up the oil easily but rather they have a 'lifetime' oil which is BS and planned obscelence.
