I have a concern regarding Oil change for Grande. I went to toyota for first oil change and they recommended me to go for Taglon 5W-50, however the user manual recommended 5W-30 or 10W-30.
Though my preference was to go for 5W-30 since its a new engine, only 5k driven, but it was only available in Japenese tin packing which was double the price of local toyota oil. So i had to go with Petron 10W-30!
I have three concerns:
1. Whether, the thicker (10W-30) would harm the new engine?
2. If petron 10W-30 is synthetic or mineral?
3. If the recommended oil by Toyota user manual in 5W-30, then why the dealerships are adding 5W-50 in all new engines upto 20,000km and then they recommend to go with Petron 10W-30. This should be raised to IMC for action!
