Toyota Corolla '99 or Suzuki Liana '06-'07

Assalamo alaikum all
I am in the market for a used car and was looking at a '99 2.0D converted to 1.6gli engine, power mirrors, locks etc vs 2007 Liana Rxi 1.3L. both are around same price and both on petrol. Which is a better option considering my daily drive is 65-70 km and mix of paved and unpaved/dirt road.

I am concerned about recurring suspension expenses considering the 10km of rough tracks I have to negotiate, also running petrol expenses. Rolla is more comfortable but much older and repainted, while Liana is almost in genuine condition with few touchups.

What are your suggestions?

If condition of ce100 is good....then pick corolla otherwise go for liana.

Mehran is tiring to drive, plus suspension needs work every 2 months when used on rough non-roads.

you can buy liana...but it is a headache car mostly...only if you can get in very good condition....then it will cost a lot...

If you can get the liana in decent condition then that is the way to go. 66 km per day is a lot, an older car no matter the condition will require more money and time. Try to get the liana with good engine condition even if the body is not up to par. That can always be rectified.

If you look difference between Liana an 99 or any indus corolla then 99 corolla is hundred time better than liana
but i will chose 99 2.od mean diesel not petrol because of good diesel average and many ore things.
first of all as every pakistani think the resale value then indus corolla have much better resale value then liana.
2nd beautiful shape of indus corolla and dabang look than liana its shape is just like a disk slip patient.
3rd corolla have much better suspension quality than any other.

go for 99 but in good condition

people bash on Liana for no reason. Its just like any other car. Just don't pressure wash the engine bay, whatever you do - generally, don't pressure wash the engine bay of any car for that matter.

i have honda city 2000, these modles are i think japanese...it is giving avg of vitz... 14 - 15 with even heavy foot....

local manufactured give bad milleage

Thanks for suggestions, after looking at many indus rollas and not finding a clean car, I finally bought a 2010 liana rxi petrol with 143k on odo. Nice car and good value for money

Not as comfortable as a rolla, but it is only 8 years old and much fewer issues than 20+ year old cars.
