i think altis .16 is not for city driving especially for those who drive daily for the office because now in every city u got lot of traffic even some time terrible traffic.

if we talk about long routes as a family car people go on long rout once in a blue moon.

also change your plug and use iridium or laser plug in your engine will effect the performance and average both

Well my brother has 1.6 Altis 2017. It gives 11-12kmpl in city and havent tried it on long route. Its done 12000kms only.
Toyota maintained and 5w30 oil being used.
Get your car checked, there is something wrong here like MAF sensor, throttle issue, clogged air filter or maybe something else... 7-8kmpl in city is too low !

but it also depend howw much you stuck in traffic brother since it is 1600 cc when ideal engine also consume fuel brother

I refuelled it and drove it late night on an empty sharah e faisal, the average went up till 10.5 km/l

Usually, it does one long round trip around 18 km, and then is used for household purposes such as getting groceries and things.

Had a 2017 Altis 1.6, In Lahore its average was 9.5 km/l to 10.5 km/l based on traffic congestion. On M2 with average speed of 120: the max I got was 13.5 to 14 km/l. Oil used was SN 5w30. The culprit is decades old 4 speed auto. IMO Grande CVT 1.8 must have better fuel economy than SuperECT 1.6.

You don't need to fidget with it, it's at its proper place. You will uselessly spend and end up with 0.5kml more, not worth it

Altis 1.6 is one brilliant car specially the FL model and yes it is a little down economically true but remember reborn civic.. What poor average it had and ppl were after it like crazy because of the looks and comfort.

Dear, I'm driving Altis 1.6 since May 2018.

Before 1st oil change, the mileage was pathetic: 8-9 local & 14 kmpl on long route.

5000 km onwards; started giving me 10-11 kmpl local & 15 kmpl long route.

10,000 km onwards; 10-12 kmpl local & 16+ kmpl on long route.

I recently (27 Oct) drove it from Abbottabad to Khanewal (4 passengers incl 3 children) & it gave me an amazing fuel average of 19.4 km per litre. BUT it was motorway from Abbottabad till Khanewal.

I zeroed the trip meter, filled the tank with normal petrol & then filled the tank again after 596 km. Total fuel consumed was 30.7 litres.

I'm using Taglon 5w50 fully synthetic oil, 34 psi tyre pressure, air filter cleaned, soft pedal & careful route selection even during local drives. Speed on motorway was between 90-100 km/hr.

I'm Alhamdulillah, satisfied & enjoying.
