Both imported CBU are Hybrid and two diffrent trims. I personally don't see a regular NA engine option. I think the rumored price might be of two trim levels but both Hybrid.

As of current info, only Hybrid versions as CBU of Corolla Cross.. three variants; low, mid and high. Base/low around 7.5. Top version / high around 8.5.

There is no naturally aspirated version as I always mentioned.

A lot of people i know have been interested in corolla cross. Most turned off by the price. They shouldve done local assembly.

But there have been rumors of tax reduction on hybrids. Lets see what happens

Yes price is a huge turn off actually, it can be looked over if the features offered are mitigating factor of price.

Plus, vehicle on ground has to be seen and assessed as well.

This whole assumption of bringing in CBUs first to determine market response and then supposedly starting local assembly is never gonnna work because of the price difference.

But lets wait a couple of years, maybe they’ll start popping up as private used imports.

100% confirmed. Only hybrid and there will be three variants. Low, mid and high. Even the high is not that well equipped like the one in Thailand, I mean in terms of safety. No active safety feature.

Isn't Used JDM CH-R a better option compare to cross?

Normally top of the line spec CH-R 2018 model is around 6.2-6.5million , CH-R being compact will have more HP as Power to Weight Ratio .. In terms of Feature more than Corolla Cross ie Toyota Safety Sense include both safety and Active Safety.

Further, CH-R is in market for 3-4 years, while Corolla Cross is newly introduced in Market , therefore newly launched vehicle are prone to have re-call specially hybrids engine car have history of re-call.

As you mentioned RECALL, well then in case of CHR , you don't have any after sales service and support/ warranty coverage. In case of Corolla Cross , there is warranty coverage. But again at 8.5 Million price point, it does not make sense when around the same price Kia Sorento with 3 rows will be available appn while Toyota own product, Fortuner is also available.

BTW, Toyota global recalled Prius , Prius Alpha last year in Japan and globally for model years 2009 to 2014/15. I mean recall can happen anytime. This recent recall effects many Prius in pakistan imported as JDM. Same is the case with Vezel, Grace and Jazz hybrid with DCT recall.
