Toyota offers most hybrid models with nimh batteries.
For plug in hybrids, lithium ion batteries are used.
Priuses are good for 100s of thousands of km on the nimh battery packs. Cross should be ok too.
Nimh are safer and cheaper.
No point in spending extra money for tech that's not required.

Vezel AFAIK is Li ion
Haval is Li ion
Prius 4th gen onwards is Li ion for .75kwh, for AWD it is still NiMH
CHR comes in both variants; NiMH and Li Ion as has been pointed out if it is EV/ PHEV or HEV

civic xi isnt hybrid plus less torque and less features when compared stock vs stock to corolla cross plus many civic xi owner still facing the steering issue that is since 2016 in civic.. only thing is dimensions and looks which can be debated among the two.

its not making fools rather then giving tried and tested technology which is guaranteed to last.. its a locally made hybrid so they dont want to take chances like others and end up getting issues ..its kaizen philosophy of Toyota which may be less appealing but does last longer then other auto manufacturers.. eventually the point is how well its built quality, space and features are rather then the type of battery used.

Your comment contradicts the modern research on batteries. Lithium ion batteries have long life than NiMH. They are lighter, and charges quickly.
This kaizen shit is only for Pakistan. Toyota is offering Lithium batteries in many models across the globe.

You forget to mention the drive aspect. You can never enjoy driving cross over when compared to sedan whether it's civic, elantra or corolla. Anyone who understand this usually avoid cross overs. Honestly these cross overs look like oversized hatchback to me. They are not true suv nor hatchback. Lols

A stock cross is pretty slow anyway.. so no driving fun part is in cross. We already have CBU reviews available and its actually slower than Grande after a couple of runs. Last time IMC was offering Iphone 13 to make CBU sales, let's see what they do now. It's not a global hit like the corolla sedan is.
Don't forget it has a torsion beam and has very high body roll too. U can find reviews easily. Sportage and Tuscon even have better suspension.

There is sufficient difference in power too Civic >> Cross... anyways let the CKD reviews begin and things will be clear. I m inclined to try since it's a toyota but global reviews and cramped space is taking the charm away

Cross as per IMC spec sheet is 96HP Gasoline, and 71HP Electric. Totalling 167 HP. ofcourse motor is way limited

people buy fortuners ,revos and yet they know.. many know that the drive isnt that great in terms of comfort but still those vehicles are seen as status symbols and used in govt use as well ...people buy crossovers ,people buy sedans and people buy suvs and all three of these categories have their own plus and negatives you cant say that one is superior all the way or else we wouldnt be seeing cross over suvs at all.on roads..it is clear that people also prefer them infact cross over sales are more nowadays then sedans.. handling characteristics can only be known once we get the hands on owner reviews on road.
