It's illegal in Pakistan aswell. According to Auto Policy 2016, no car without airbag is allowed to be sold in Pakistan

Correct me if I am wrong, wasn't this applicable only to cars launched after the Auto Policy 2016 came into effect?

This car carries toyota badge. If audi can sell a few Q2s toyota can sell camry at the price it is being sold in Pakistan. This Corolla cross can sell at any tag price.

People are actual ok with purchasing a used Toyota Raise for 5 million plus tag.

Yes so true, dealers have gone nuts asking 5.5 mill for dinky Raise haha. And camry insane price in Pakistan. In India its sold 8.5 million pkr while here 19 million.. Koi to lagam do yar iss auto industry ko

The new Yaris, New Corolla, Corolla Cross everything is a gogo.

They will have to, corolla 12th generation (if they don't skip it) as well as any future corolla (13th gen onwards) will also be based on unified platforms with wide range of products on that same platform. So it makes sense to bring it here. Sooner or later it is going to come (except if Toyota decides to do a generation freeze on all of its offerings ).

This doesn't make sense. They have already missed the new trend. If they make it here, put in a 1.8 NA or a 2.0 NA, offer it at competitive price, it should do well against the 4.5-6 million crossover market. Fortuner is doing well, and so will Corolla Cross if they make an effort to price it correctly.

Chill out guys, it's simply a limited edition release for Toyota fanboys and collectors. Otherwise, the launch and hype would have been insane.

There is no proof of local assembly atleast for an year or so

I have a 2001 rav4, but I want to get a Corolla, what's the maximum year you would go down to? I don't mind getting an older Corrola, because I still love my 20 year old rav4, but my wife is trying to start using her driver's licence and I think maybe having two cars would encourage her to start driving places when she needs something. Had a problem with the transmission on my rav4 last year, but I got a really professional 2001 rav4 ecm repair so I trust the quality of the repair and I know it would be safe for my wife to drive, but I just want to get her something more new a bit, and I know the Corrola was her dream car for a while.

The Corolla Cross foundation is on TNGA-C [ Toyota New Global Architecture ] platform which is dedicated for compact vehicle class both front and AWD versions. This is the same platform it shares with the 12th generation Corolla as well the C-HR. Well we know much about Corolla Cross as its already introduced in ASEAN and Pakistan BUT Toyota now revealed it in the left hand drive North American market. Nothing new on exterior or interior BUT there are still big differences beside steering wheel on the left.

We know Corolla Cross with 1.8L 2ZR-FBE with 140HPand 175 NM of torque with CVT OR 1.8-liter 2ZR-FXE engine which is a Hybrid variant with total system power output of 121HP with ECVT. The North American version is instead powered by a 2L Dynamic Force engine which makes 169HP. The engine is mated with a Direct Shift CVT which has an actual first physical gear for better and improved launch from stand still. Because Corolla cross is an identical 12th gen Corolla sedan under the skin , it is the same engine and transmission combination as also available in the USDM Corolla sedan.

Although the RIGHT HAND DRIVE Corolla Cross is not available with AWD, the USDM has a option of AWD. Corolla Cross uses Toyota’s Dynamic Torque Control system which can send up to 50% of power to the rear wheels when required for improved traction. On regular use the vehicle remain as FWD with rear axle disengaged for improved fuel economy. Toyota predicts around 13.6 kilometers per liter for the USDM Corolla Cross.

On the interior , similar stuff as RHD version. Available 7” MID digital cluster and an 8” infotainment system with smart phone integration. A nine speaker JBL premium audio system is also available. As of safety, all three variants of USDM Cross comes with 9 airbags as well as standard Toyota active safety systems. The USDM corolla cross will sit between RAV4 and CH-R. Official pricing not yet available but expected to start around $22K for base LE while top variant can be near $26K.
