The base Corolla Cross is 1 Million bhat in Thailand for local buyers . Means around $32000. If Toyota indus get it on discount and factory rate, let's say assume $28000, means around 4.7 million PKR. Now add duties which is little over 100% for hybrid, add overheads, shipping, dealers and Indus own margins..

I dont see a CBU Corolla Cross below 7 Million. Corolla Cross is also only FWD. I dont know at that price point why someone will not buy Sportage or Tucson? And why choose Corolla Cross. CBU does not work but Indus can try.

I don't think so, with already lower sales and so called less reported incomes, the company would be ready to invest developing a Corolla Cross locally at this time.

BTW, the Toyota Rush is being sold for around 5.6 million something by Indus and it comes from Indonesia where base Rush starts at around $17000. It comes under the 1500cc bracket for duties[ not sure how much are those], So, again a $28000 [ let's assume ] worth of base Corolla Cross will not be cheaper.

Don't forget extra FED on 1.8 cars. It will definitely not be cheaper than Rush but being a 1.8 Hybrid, it will attract relatively less duty than ICE cars.

I know, that luxury vehicle is used by us for transporting Bakras on eid and carry dogs around. Plus always handy to pick up large items from market.

Women don't want to to be seen in it. Yet Pakistanis consider it epitome of luxury and power.

Fazal, nothing is cheap in Pakistan except human lives. Dollar is predicted to cross 170 this September, plus deferred payment POL contract rescinded by KSA, its just going downhill.

Tucson and sportage has startrd the competition..so i think toyota indus would launch corolla cross soon seeing the great response from people for SUVs and they would nt price it way above then the other two.. It could be just around 6 million anything above would kill it for sure and m nt expecting at all the hybrid version

Tucson and Sportage assembly are done under a major subsidy of duty on imports of parts applicable for 5 years as per auto policy.

I dont see a CBU Corolla Cross to be below 6 Million. It will be definitely be floating around 7. Keep in mind the Toyota Rush is already 5.6 Million as CBU while on the other hand Prius which is also a CBU, a Hybrid cost over 9 Million.

Agree but how about a 9.2 Million Prius ? Prius I believe is imported from Japan and I think around $25000 in Japan for base model.. corolla cross has same engine as in Prius. I don't understand the 9.2 Milliom sticker price..

That 9.2mn prius is just absurd. They have no competition so they can ask whatever they want, especially with no JDM imports.
But, I don't know how IMC will go about pricing Corolla Cross.
There's no way it will challenge tucson or sportage in terms of price as a CBU, heck even Fortuner will seem like better value for money if both are priced equally. Who would pay more for an (apparently) inferior vehicle?

But they sold only 1 unit when it was half the price at 4.5 Million for brand new many years ago. Back then the market was flooded with JDM imports and were slightly cheaper as used but people still didnt buy it back then from Indus.

If Prius and Corolla Cross are similarly priced abroad and fall under the same tax category then no reason to expect that Cross will be priced much lower than the Prius by IMC.

Currently Cross is only offered in Thailand with base price around 1M Bhat. Prius is not for sale in Thailand as far as I know so, not sure about Price differential.

2 units of Corolla Cross [ Hybrid variants ] reached Pakistan from Thailand and in Toyota Indus possession. A CBU launch might be soon and possibly by the end of year as speculated/ rumored.

Pricing will determine success or failure of this car. Otherwise its just gonna end up as a useless item on Indus website line up.

I dont expect it to be cheaper than Sportage or for that matter Tucson. Expect to be in high 7 and 8 range.. let see how Indus price it.. looking at Prius.. I m confused on Corolla Cross project.. they can put a X on Cross
